Lung nodules

I have not posted for a few weeks. My mom will be going for a CT of the chest on Monday. They found two small lung nodules on her abd CT from a few weeks ago. The gyn/oncologist says surgery is not indicated due to the size and extent of her tumor. So far she has had three rounds of chemo (had to be adjusted and 6 weeks apart due to bone marrow suppression). Now he suggested radiation. The radiation oncologist wants to do the chest CT to evaluate the lung nodules to determine how aggressive to treat her (she's 78). It is a roller coaster and frustrating. Keeping my fingers crossed for the best.

Will the radiation be to her lungs?
Please let us know how Monday's CT-scan turns out. What size were the lung nodules? & would the radiation be to her lungs? You both will be in my prayers.

I had a tiny 2.7 mm lung nodule noted on the CT-scan I had in April. Both my chemo and radiation oncologists said it was 'nothing', and I'm not even having another scan until mid-August, they are that unconcerned. So if the nodules are really small, it may not be anything that needs treated. Will you mom be havinbg further chemo after her radiation? Sometimes they sandwich radiation in the middle of chemo.

    Lung nodules
One of the nodules is 1.2 cm and the other is 0.5 cm. The radiation oncologist said that if the nodules are either a primary or metastatic he probably would not radiate them.. All will depend on what the CT scan shows on Monday. Tuesday her primary doctor will go over the scan with the radiologist. They are planning further chemo after radiation, if her blood counts can take it. Will update on Tuesday. Thanks for being there.
