The drug is like avastin used for gbm to kill blood vessels of tumors except it is being used now for kidney cancer and liver cancer. The cpt11/avastin worked well immediately in May08 and prob. saved him with the amount of swelling he had reversed as well as the tumor reduction. However, the tumor today grew 25% which is where we started from but the smaller tumor below it in the left temporal lobe is stable and it shrank 50% in may. The benefit to risk isn't worth staying on the cpt11/avastin at this point. The sutent deals with many of the receptors such as rb that deals with vessel growth that enables the tumor to supply itself with vital nutrients through the blood.

    Dear joerullo,

The easiest way to locate other CSN members with similar experiences is to type keywords (such as "brain cancer," "sutent," "clinical trials," etc.) on the search bar at the top of the home page. You can refine your search by clicking on the “Advance search” link listed underneath the search field. The major categories of content on CSN are blogs, discussion boards, personal pages, etc. For example, if you are looking for a specific posting on a discussion board, you can limit your search to discussion boards only by clicking on the "discussion" and "advanced search" button at the bottom of the "advanced search" box. Remember that you must be logged on if you want to post anything on a discussion boards, view personal pages, use the chat room, etc.
