Pyriform sinus/hypopharyngeal cancer??

I was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma of the larynx (voice box). I'm not sure if it is the same type of carcinoma you are asking about...just in a different location.

It sounds like your Dad will be receiving a similiar treatment to my own. I had 35 radiation treatments...daily Monday through Friday...along with the same chemo drugs once a week.
I am now almost 4 months out of treatment and finally feeling better. It does take awhile to recuperate.
I would advise you and your Dad to be very patient. It seems to take forever to get through the treatments and to recuperate from the unavoidible side effects.
When does your Dad start his treatments? Since you are starting soon, it is important not to miss any treatments. The treatments have a cumilative effect. It is perhaps more difficult on the patient...somedays you just don't feel up to the treatment. However, it is more effective if your Dad does not miss a treatment. I would be more than happy to share any experiences with you and your Dad. I just do not want to throw too much info your way.
I know just hearing the word cancer and being told about procedures can be overwhelming.
