NO MORE CHEMO!

I just returned from my post chemo follow-up with my doctor. I received the 'ALL CLEAR' according to the test results, blood tests and exam. CA125 is holding at 8. I hereby have a reprieve - no more chemo! I'm so happy, so is my family.

One thing did show up, however, on my CT scan - a blood clot in the vein that used to supply the ovary. It was clamped when I had my hysterectomy in 2000, and my doctor is puzzled as to why I have the clot now. Typically, it is common to occur not long after surgery. He has advised an aspirin per day and my follow-up CT in 3 months will also look to see if it is still there. Anyone else out there have this before?

May God bless all of you for your continued prayers, hugs and support. I know I will continue to walk this road with caution and eyes wide open. But I'm blessed that the Lord has sent so many wonderful people to hold my hand along the way. Until later. . .

Hugs and prayers forever.
Monika

    CA-125 count
Ok I need your thoughts, because I don't go back to the doctor until Monday. He sent me today for a cat scan papers said Left pelvic mass, got my CA-125 from yesterday and it is now 143.5. it was 104 in May. I'm tired I need prayer... Say a prayer for my family. My husband said today when he saw what the doctor wrote it made him physically sick. This disease is so hard on our families, but I know the Lord wants us to trust him in everything and I do! God Bless ya and I hope everyone is doing well!!!

Thank you Jan! Still having residual chemo side effects, but I'm going to be patient for them to subside. I appreciate all the support and hugs.

I read your post about seeing your new doctor soon. Let us know how that goes. Till then, have a blessed time in the Smokies!

What great news, Monika!!! I'm so happy for you! I have never heard of the blood clot problem either. I'm suppose to have my 6th chemo Friday. The test after my 4th showed my CA-125 at 45. So, I will find out this week what it is now, after the 5th. They may do an additional 2 - hope so. Again, congratulations! With love, MM

Thank you MM! I hope you don't need the additional treatments, so I'll keep the good thoughts. Let us know.

    Hi Monika,

Glad to hear you're in the clear. I wouldn't worry about the blood clot too much unless it persists. If there was any chance of it breaking loose and traveling, I'm sure your doctor would have you taking coumadin or some other blood thinner.

You know I wish you all the best in all aspects!

Thank you so much for your thoughtfullness to respond. I will research the blood clot further, but trying not to give it too much attention. Thank you again!
