Hello everybody,
First of all I would like to share the same story as I experienced with my Fathers case.
I read some articles and found some cases look like ours.
Anyway , what I found here is that you must beleive in God , and he will take care of all your worries and he will help you to overcome this situation.

I will be thankfull for anyone could help me with my case. My father started the chimio and today is our second round of Cisplatin and nerolbine!

I wish and pray to God that you may find your way to get cure . And that no body will live this hard situation!!

My best friend has Stage IV NSCLC it has spread everywhere except her brain. She has just finished her 4th round of chemo Cisplatin/Etopcide and is doing well. The monster has shrunk and she has put on weight. Keep the faith and never stop believing. Keep a positive attitude. She has 2 more rounds of chemo to go and then we move on to the next step whatever that may be but in the process we will continue to believe. Sincerely, Believing

There are many things you can do to help with the chemo, but each one of us is different. I did many things that I believe helped me go into remission and tolerate the treatment. My story is posted here just type ernrol in the search box above and then click on ernrol to the right. You have not told us too much about your dads cancer. I had stage IIIb / IV nsclc. Get your dad involved. There are lots he can do. Keep us posted.

    Hello Ernrol,
First of all I thank you for your support.
I read your story before posting my message here and I inspire from your story. What I think is God is with you and your great family because of that you got healed.
But I have a question if you are cured now or you are still checking yourself on a timely manner?

For me , my dad is 57 years old and he is in a good health. But with the Chemo ( Cisplatin first round, and after 2 weeks now Carboplatin) and we will do this in 3 weeks (1 per 15 days).
After this the Doctor said we will see if we will be able to do a surgery.
I hope that it will be like this , and like your story that the Tumor will shrink after the chemo.
Anyway if you can help please do. and if you need any specific info I can provide .
    thanks a lot.

    Hi Geni,
Thanks for your moral. I really appreciate it.

    Thanks

My last scan was in May. I have changed from a scan every 3 months to 6 months. The last scan showed no sign of disease. I will be checked on a regular basis. The time between checks may increase. Do you know why they changed his chemo from Cisplatin to Carboplatin? Is he just getting Carboplatin alone or does he get Taxol with it. Carboplatin and Taxol is what they call the Gold standard for lung cancer. I was given Tarceva along with it. You might want to inquire about Tarceva. My dosage was 100mg which is less than what is usually given, and that may be why I had no bad reaction to it or the chemo. I had chemo one day a week for three weeks then one week off, that was one cycle. I had just started my fifth cycle when the scan showed no disease. They really don't call mine a cure, because it has only been about a year, but no disease present is the best you can get. Is your dad real positive? If he has good results from the chemo, he may not need the surgery. Keep positive and let me know if I can be of any help.

    Hi Ernie,
Again , I thank you for your reply.
I hope that ypu will be cured at all from this disease. What I know from my readings that you can say u can be cure 100% if u didnt do a rechute (relapse) after 2 years.
My dad changed from Cisplatin to Carboplatin because the Cispaltin was not available in 2 days at the time of the second round. the doctor replaced it with carboplatin . in mean while he is getting navelbine! so no taxol . and what abt Tarceva?
The Chemo is now scheduled once every 15 days , and after 6 rounds we will do a CT-Scan to see the evolvment of the tumor!!
Now my dad is really in a good health except after the chemo he can feel not so good for 3 days.
but now I am a little worry on the immunity (the whhite blode cells), they are not o good now on numbers!!
Anyway thanks again for your experience .
