I am 34 years old, very healthy with a very active lifestyle, married with 4 children.
I had stage 2 Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma that is ALK+ (diagnosed in Oct/05, i completed my chemo therapy in March/06.

I am concerned about the chances of Reoccurrence; available stats are too general and not specific to population age and cancer stage.

Any others out there with the same type and had a reoccurrence?

Please share your experience...

Thanks

Hi! I just wanted to respond because I never meet anyone that had the same cancer as me. I was diagnosed with Stage 2A ALK+ ALCL in 2002.  I was 17.  I did chemo for a year, and I had a 13 year remission until March of this year, where I presented with a cutaneous lesion that turned out to be the exact same cancer.  It then spread to a regional lymph node through draining from the surgery, although the lymph node didn't stay swollen.  They just found the cancer in a skinny needle biopsy after the node had swelled and subsequently gone down.  I'm doing 4 Cycles of CHOP right now and then radiation after.  I'm hoping this is the end of it.  No one seems to know what to do because it's so rare to have such a late recurrence, but I just wanted to let you know and see how you're doing.  I hope you're doing great!
