Has anyone had this type of cancer where the tumor was in the parotid gland? I had surgey in July where this was removed through the neck on the right side. I have since gone through chemo and radiation. I would like to find someone who has had this or a similar type of cancer/treatment to learn more about their experience...both the good and the bad.

    Hello,

You may want to do a search of the CSN website to see if there are others that have had a similar experience. To do this enter the search words you are looking for in the search bar at the top of this page. If you find someone you wish to contact, you can do so through the internal CSN email system. For information on all of the CSN features, click on the "help" link found at the top of the page.

    Take care and be well,

    Hi JT,
I have had mucoepidermoid carcinoma of the sublingual and submaxillary salivary glands. The first tumor and those salivary glands on the left side were excised in 3/04. Another tumor on the left side was excised last week (3/7/06). My Surgeon wants me to go to an Oncologist (for radiation therapy) when I've healed.

Hi if you are still using this page maybe you can help me. My husband is now going through chemo and radiation at the same time. I would like to know how you made out. How were you able to cope going through treatment with a cancer no one knows about

I went through both chemo and radiation at the same time also chemo was only once a week and radiation every day. I was tired alot and it was hard but through my faith in God I got through it . It has been almost three months since treatments and am getting along good.

Even though you were tired did you still have problems sleeping through the night? What have the doctors told you about the prognosis or recurrence? In the three months has any of you taste come back?
    Thanks
