I just lost my Mom to lung cancer. It came so quick. Everything seems like it's not real. Mom never even had a chance to fight it, or maybe she waited to long. I don't know. I do know, I miss her and I was wondering what now. I was hoping to find some type of support group that maybe I could go to once in awhile, but I haven't found any for someone who has lost a loved one. Any suggestions.

Hello!! I read your post as I also am looking for someone to talk to. I lost my beloved husband 12-24-04.He passed away from Colon/Rectal cancer. I can't believe that it will be a year in a few weeks. I am still not in a good place. I contacted that Hospice organization as they had a support group in our county just for adults that have lost a loved one no matter who. It was not required to be on hospice at the time of death to go. All are welcome. Do you have Hospice in your area? That would be the first place I would try. I know that they will be able to help you.

Just take one day at a time as you are still in shock from the hole situation!!!

If you would like to talk email me anytime!!

I know how hard it is for you!!!

    Always,

    Sue

I do have a hospice in my area. I'll give them a try. Thanks. Sorry to hear about your husband. Christmas isn't suppose to be like this, is it. My family use to go to my Grandma's for Christmas. This year no one really wants to. Although, Grandma still wants to have it because she doesn't want to disappoint my sister and me. I guess she thinks that it will help. Maybe it will help my children.

    Thanks again,
    Ellen

I am so very sorry for your loss. I found that hospitals either have support groups or have information on how to contact your local support groups.

1st time using this site..My husband had rectal cancer, we are just now trying to find some kind of normalcy in our lives. 3 kids at home, 2 grown who have been lifesavers. It took a year of treatments, surgeries and fear. Now that he is slowly getting back on his feet, Im the one in bed, having difficulty getting my life back on track. Did you experience a 'crash' as the caregiver??

I am writing a book and it is about my dad's battle with lung cancer and his death as a result. In it, I will give advice on how I handled the news my dad had cancer and how I have coped with his death. If you know anyone who would answer some questions to help me with my book I'd appreciate it. Don't worry you're not alone. I know just how you feel. I lost my Dad to lung cancer nine years ago this November. At first I was just numb. I was only fourteen when he died and I remember thinking to myself "Why is God doing this to me?" I am here to listen if you want to talk.

If you are still reading this board please feel free to email me. I would be more than happy to help with your book, questions, etc. I too lost my Dad to lung cancer the day before my 33 birthday. I just lost my Mom to ovarian cancer on the 1st of December 2006. I too have been in survivor mode. And there are days when I sure could use someone to talk to. Take care... Cindy
