Hi: My husband has liver cancer, bile duct and pancreatic cancer, mest to stage 4. He is not doing to well. He was not a candidate for the whipple procedure, so they did a bypass surgery so that he could eat and poop, or so the doctor said. He has just finished his third round of chemo, has lost 120 lbs, and has the runs constantly. He is on Gemzar and Tarceva. Both can be rough on you. He is on a pain patch, and has had some success in lowering the dosage. Says he wants to drive his truck. As long as he believes the treatments are working for him, and stays positive, I think we may make it. His birthday was in Sept, and the dr didn't think he would be around. It is hard watching someone that was always strong for you, now depending on you. I am happy for the time we have, and am praying that he starts to feel a little better soon. It has been hard on my two sons, but they have been very supportive. I will keep you and your dad in my prayers, and wish you the very best. This may sound corny, but try to stay positive. I spend a lot of time talking about old times, a lot of it from before we even met. This seems important to him. As a caregiver, I can tell you that it is very important that you take care of yourself. It didn't in the beginning, and now am having some problems with my health. I wish the best for your dad.

What effects with Gemzar and Tarceva - We in Australia to try this and not sure what to expect - also was your husband angry and aggressive as my partner has become - lots of tears from me as he blames me for everything - very hard can tell you - Pinefrost from Australia
