Well, I missed everyone! I just got caught up on the postings and I am infinitely happy that everyone is staying strong (I never would have expected anything less!). The love, support, strength, courage, and kickass attitude embodied in the postings... It amazes me every time. Before cancer, I never understood the depth and resiliency of the human spirit. Thank you all for showing me.

Now, mushiness & corniness aside, I'm glad to be back. Well, I was never really gone. I was caught up in (drumroll please)... Grad school applications! That's right, I will be receiving a B.Sc. on May 31st and I'm planning to go to grad school in the fall. I am just so happy!!! I already told my friends and family to book the day off. Of course, the way I'm talking, I'm probably going to jinx it, but what are the heavens going to do? Give me cancer! Ha, ha, ha, ha. Medically speaking, I'm still doing chemo and my scans are in January. The surgeon thinks he got everything (twenty tumors in the bucket) but we need confirmation. If the scans are clear, I will officially be in remission. Yea!

Must go now, my textbooks beckon, but I think of you all often and pray that all is well. Bob and Sue, you are at the top of my list. I hope you are having a good day. Kerry, I wanted to tell you how shocked and amazed I am at how well you are handling the re-diagnosis. Keep fighting the good fight. I am happy to see the clear scans (Emily!) and that everyone is hanging tight. You know what they say... When you get to the end of your rope, tie a big knot and hang on!

Sending out some Canadian love,
Andrea

    Andreae,

So good to hear from you. Long time, no hear! But sounds like you have everything under control. We'll be keeping positive thoughts for your scans in January.

I leave tomorrow for MD Anderson to begin my new chemo regimen of Oxaliplatin and Zeloda. I'm ready to beat this beast once and for all.

Take care, keep in touch and congratulations on the graduation.

    Best wishes,

    Kerry

    Andrea -

Good to hear from you. I was just wondering the other day where you'd been, but figured you were probably doing 30 days in jail for disorderly conduct/public indecency on Halloween and just unable to get to a computer.

Best of luck on your Graduate School process!

    Cheers

  • Andrea, yes you were missed. Just was wondering a few days ago how you were doing. I was telling someone at work about you whose daughter, not much older than you, recently got diagnosed with breast cancer....stage III. I thought of you and the inspiration you could provide to this young person who is absolutely devestated by her disease. Hearing about you certainly put a smile on her face.

Congrats on all your good news and boy is it good news. Keep us posted and here's to completely kicking cancer's **** in January.

    Lots of hugs,
    Monika & Bert

Bravo, Andreae! Congratulations on your upcomming graduations - from school and from treatment.
My father taught at McGill University and I know what a tough school it is. I could not get in myself so naturally I went to a party school. So did my brother. One of my sisters made it, though. The smart one. She took after Dad. Cancer took him after he retired and we miss him still.
I just know you are going to bring us good news come January.
