Hullo from OZ--I also had a large portion of my descending colon removed and 6 months of chemo.
Welcome to the board--yu have come to the place where all are as "one"
There is a wealth of info here as yu have seen by the 20 replies yu recieved--WOW!!
The chemo--although somewhat unwanted--is tolerable and definately effects each of us in different ways.
Be sure to keep your clinic nurses updated on your progress and do not be afraid to tell them of ANY unusual side effects--even trivial ones--this is most important.
Jen and I wish you well on wednesday.

Kangatoo...thank you so very much for your support. Actually, thanks to everyone who responded to my post. You have no idea how much that means to me (well, then again, maybe you do). When I learned my diagnosis just over 2 weeks ago, I felt numb, still do. While my husband and I met with my surgeon and he drew the diagram of my cancer and what he was going to do, my ears were ringing, I felt faint and couldnt believe that this was actually my life, my body we were discussing. You people, more than anyone else can truly understand what that feels like - until you are diagnosed with cancer, you just cant imagine it. That is why I am so grateful to all of you,and this site, for taking away my feelings of isolation. I am definitely not alone in this fight.

I will definitely take and use any and all advise that I am given here.

    Thanks so much again!

    Lisa -

You're right, we've all been there in some way, shape, or form. In mcase I didn't have two+ weeks to worry about it. I went into surgery two days later. I'm really glad to hear your husband is there for you - having someone you can depend on, who will give you a "safe place" when you need it makes a huge difference.

Keep up the good attitude and remember we're all behind you inyour fight with the dragon - anytime you need anything, just call.
