Hi,
I had a stem cell transplant 2 1/2 years ago. The main problem I still have is that I am still tired. My doctors can't find anything wrong with me. The only thing they say is I probally have depression then. I been taken anti-depressents for a month and still tired w/ no changes. I don't think I am depressed. Anyone else has this problem?

I also took anti-depressants and was fatigued. I took Paxil for a while and was so tired at the end of the work day, I went to bed as soon as I got home without eating and could hardly drag myself out of bed. All I wanted to do was sleep. I had to quit taking it. I have also tried Zoloft and it also makes me tired, but not quite as severe though. I am not currently taking anything, although I probably need it, because my Lymphoma has returned and I am tired alot anyway. I wonder if your anti-depressant might be part of the cause for your fatigue.

I know exactly how you feel, I am on disability and do not even have to go to work, only eight doctor's apointments and taking my son to school and picking him up everyday and I am exhausted always. I have the luxury, thankfully, of being able to rest and sit on my couch when I want to but i never seem to do it. I am constantly doing something around the house (what little I can do), and yet i am falling asleep on my feet some days. I had treatment about 2 years ago also but i had Retuxan and it lowered my immune system so much that i got an infection in my spine. I lost two vertabrea and four disks and was hospitalized for six weeks and i still feel very week and tired now. I hope you find a solution soon to your fatigue, and me too.
    Good luck, keep fighting.

Hi I am Susan - I am almost 2 years out from treatment and have a tremendous problem with fatigue. Everyone kept telling me I was depressed and I said the same thing you did, I don't feel depressed. I feel so much better hearing that someone else experiences some of the things that I have - I don't feel like it's ALL IN MY HEAD.

    Hi Susan,
What are some things you have tired to beat your fatigue. I went to the doctor this morning and he just tried to convice me I was depressed. I really think he dosn't know what he is talking about on this topic. No one really seam to want to help me just give me more pills. Which I think are making it worse.

I had an auto. SCT 2 1/2 years ago, too. I dealt with fatigue for quite a while, but ploded through it.
Last fall I started feeling worse. I realized that something "wasn't right" and I began talking with a social worker at my hospital.
I was put on Prozac and went through about 12 weeks of counceling which really seemed to help me. I found that there was a lot of feelings/energy/emotions tied up in me after going through such a major event.
Perhaps finding someone to talk to on a regular basis may help you to?
    Good luck.

Hi all! My name is Linda and I found out I was in remission from large-cell NHL May 8, 2005! Praise the Lord!!!( I was diagnosed with NHL Sept.2004) My only concern is my sleep "habits". I tend to fall asleep between 2-4am and then I sleep for at least 9 hours. I feel fine once I do get up but I'm wondering if this is normal. I am taking 75 mg. of Effexor for hot flashes and night sweats (I'm 43) but I KNOW I am not depressed. I went through a major depression from '97to '98 and I finally weaned myself off of Effexor XR (don't remember dosage) in 2001. I am just wondering if anyone else is having a similar problem as this? ( I can't believe I am having a problem with sleeping-during my 8 cycles of chemo I had a RX to let me fall asleep...) God bless all of you!!!
