If you go to www.eccafe.org there is lots of good info about esophageal cancer. Also on that site is a link to the ACOR list group for esophageal cancer. there are 1200 subscribers to that list and a lot of good information is shared. IT is a good group.

Sometimes I find there are folks here who try to move you on to other sites when you post a ?. I don't understand that. It seems that once here and logged on and registered we should be able to stay here, unless the people referring you on have a vested interest in the other site. Anyway, there are some pretty good answers here when folks don't get intimidated by those trying to push them along - and relate their own experiences. And that is all that (I think) anyone wants here. We don't expect concrete medical advice, just some words of wisdom or encouragement from people who 'have been there, done that'.
I am almost 3 years from surgery and thought I was free but went to check out my pains and apparently something was found. I live 100 miles away from cancer center, so Doc called and said he needed to talk to me, and then further schedule me back to an oncologist. I can pretty much guess the rest, but will talk to him on 23Mar04 and see what the deal is. Doc didn't want to get into to much on the phone. So, if I find anything that might help you, I will reply here as time permits.

    Rogge,

Don't think it is so much people trying to push people to another site, just pass on helpful information. I am only 1.5 years out from surgery and fortunately haven't had to deal with a recurrence. But I know there are those on the ACOR list hwo have and thought their experience could be helpful. No vested interest in the list - just another beneficial resource for those who might find it valuable.
Will be hoping your visit to the doc is better than you expect.
