Gotta get an immersion blender

Hi all,
This may be a little "out there" as a posting, but I just have to share my latest find for helping to make nutritious drinks and soups. I have been trying to boost my nutrition and weight since surgery, and now into chemo. Fruit smoothies (OJ, banana, frozen strawberries and a little plain or vanilla yogurt) have long been a family favorite, but it sure is a drag getting out and cleaning up the blender. I bought an immersion blender, and this thing is quick and easy---just wash out one beaker and rinse the detachable blade part. You can also puree soups right in the pot (squash soup and carrot soup are my current favorites). It feels like so much less bother than old blender/food processor mess. It seems that we all probably have more important things to focus on than dirty dishes.
So, sorry if I sound like a late night appliance commercial, but I love this thing. I understand they've been around for a while, but I usually steer clear of kitchen gadgets. Judy

    Judy,

May I add my smoothie info? Blueberries sock a big whammy in the anti-oxident department. They are fabulous for cancer slaying. Add some flax oil which is packed with Omega-3's--another wonderful cancer healer.

    My morning smoothie:

    1 cup blueberries
    1 TB flax oil
    1 scoop protein powder
    water

    YUM! Enjoy!

    peace, em the juicing queen

I have found that three shots of Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum added to Emily's recepie help you forget all about the taste of the flax oil and protien powder! YUM-YUM!

    Hi Bud,
If you mean have I given a name to my new little friend, the answer is no, but now you've got me thinking. It is made by Braun, the 200 watt model, and it is truely known as an immersion blender in houseware circles.
Hope you are feeling better. Let us know what the onc says. Judy
