i am trying to find someone who is in the chicago area who has throat/lung cancer to speak with a friend of mine's sister.

her dr gave her the number of only one other male patient and i am trying to find her a female african american woman, dx with throat/lung cancer.

i don't really know all of the details but know that she is in dire need of someone to speak to her. her name is linda, she is 52 yrs old and was a school teacher.

i do know that she really needs someone who understands what she is/has gone through to share with. they have pretty much given her 3 months.

any help would be greatly appreciated. linda does not have access to a computer so i am trying to find someone that would be willing to give me their phone number.

thanks,
karol

    Karol,
Unfortunately I do not know of anyone in the Chicago area who fits your description. I will be praying for your friend. Have you contacted the ACS to try to locate someone with her same condition?

It may be of no solace to her, but remind her that with God, ALL things are possible. She must continue to fight and not resign herself. I will be praying. You are a good friend.

    With hope,

Have you tried getting in touch with the Gilda's Club of Chicago? I think it's on N. Wells a little south of Ohio, but I could be off on that. They should be in the phonebook, and I know they have a website. They probably have a "buddy book" of people who are willing to talk to other people, and you or your friend might list yourselves in the "buddy wanted" section.
In any case, Gilda's Club (membership is free) is a wonderful resource. You might try calling them.
