Hi everyone,
It has been awhile since I have posted and I have missed you. I went on a "life affirmation" trip with my husband. We went to my son's wedding in Texas at the end of June and then took off on a Honda Goldwing for a 9,000+ mile trip around the country. This was a very liberating trip for us because we bought the bike at the end of my chemo and radiation. It was, for us, the affirmation that my life would go on and we would have many road trips ahead of us. To have this first one completed was a victory and the wonderful assurance that life goes on! Praise the Lord for His goodness and mercy! He blessed us with good weather, safe travel, and new, wonderful friends along the way. We plan to go to Alaska next summer on the bike. Maybe I'll get brave enough to learn how to drive one and we'll go side by side! Anyway, I am one year from my radiation treatments. The chemo 1 year landmark doesn't come until November. Meanwhile, I am busily planning for my daughter's wedding next May. I am remembering you in my prayers and think of you so often.
Love, Jayne

    Hi Jayne,

It was so good to hear from you. Way to go! I would love to make a trip across country someday, but I'm the motor coach type! Alaska is also one state I would love to visit. It is so beautiful in the pictures. Congratulations on your one year mile marker. There will be plenty more down the road. You are in my prayers daily.

    God Bless,
    Kathy

    Wow Good for you Jayne,
I am rediscovering the world around me as well back camping and feeling good enough to hike around again. Since moving to this beautiful province BC I have been caught up with the cancer thing too. My family and I are finally able to see the beautiful country around us. Just spending 5 night camping in the deep wilderness where very few go. It was heaven being with nature again and feeling the bit heaven right here around me. I am with you it is time to reafirm living this life and really getting invovled in it. Coming home to my yard with many new flowers was another wonderful moment. This is truly where I want to be.
We missed you too my dear and am glad your back to share some more of that life of yours.
    Talk to you soon,

My dear Jayne, congratulations! You are so smart to grab life by the throat! I have a suggestion, when you go to Alaska, go one way on the Big Blue Ferry. Ketchican, Juneau, and Sitka can only be reached by water or plane, and if you go both ways by land, you will miss so much. You can go thru a travel agent and they will plan a trip so that you can stay 3 days in a port, no days, or like we did in our motor home, stay a week at each port. The fare is very reasonable and there are cabins available with a nice cafeteria, also the kids pitch tents on the bow and don't pay for a cabin. Get Alaska magazine and call any travel agent and check it out. You will miss a lot of Alaska if you go both ways on the road. God bless you and keep you safe in his arms! Your sister, Shirlann

Hi Jayne, and GOOD FOR YOU!!!! My hubby and I are leaving in our motorhome Monday for a 6-week trip out west to visit a bunch of National PArks. I feel the same way....it is going to signify that life goes on!!! I am coming up on my 1-yr diagnosis date (Aug. 10th), so will be glad to be somewhere enjoying something! So glad you had a good time, and good weather, etc. Good luck with the wedding plans! God bless, Cyndi
