Hi! New here but have found everyone's info very helpful. Here is my story-I had 3 lumpectomies and then finally had to have a mastectomy because they kept finding more Invasice ductal that wasn't on my mammogram and there was more DCIS as well, Stage 1 -1.7 cm tumor grade 2 and then all these small (mm size) invasive areas along with more DCIS. The tumor is estrogen positive so am on Tamoxifen now. No need for Radiation as lymph nodes negative, but since I am 41 now, diagnosed age 40, onc recommended 6 months of Meth-and 5-FU . My problem is when I had mastectomy I did immediate reconstruction with TRAM flap and I have yet to heal and since it is now almost 10 weeks since mastectomy and onc thinks it will be 1-2 more months to heal he is wondering if I should do chemo at all as no studies to support giving chemo so far from surgery...Has anyone had such a delay in chemo...any raise in percentages would be great to me, I'm anxious to get on to the chemo...Thanks!!
