Yes, I have been wearing prostheses for 4 years. After my surgery, I was told I would have to wait 3 to 4 months to get "fitted" for silicone ones. About 3 months later I got them, but was never what you would call fitted. I liked them for awhile, but soon found them to be too heavy and uncomfortable, especially in the summer. So I decided to make my own and sell them. I have had a lot of good feedback on them. (E-bay mainly) But I also have a web site,(nothing fancy for sure) About my bilateral mastectomy- I had surgery at the James Cancer Hospital in Col. Oh. My left breast was ductal carcenoma insitu. The other was okay, but I talked them into removing both. I am so glad I did. I was lucky, no chemo or radiation. They took a few nodes from each side, and none were affected. The worst part was the pain under the arms. I took pain pills for 2 weeks, but was back to work 4 weeks after surgery. Also you have to have tubes in your chest for about 2 weeks, with these little bags to collect the fluid off you chest. It doesn't hurt at all when they take them out. The chest feels numb for a long time. But when you first drink hot or cold drinks, you can really feel it. That sounds strange, but true. But it isn't so noticable, when you have something against your chest, like prostheses. All in all, it wasn't so bad. I did all my crying and worrying 2 months before surgery, and my boyfriend (now husband), was very supportive. Oh yea, after surgery they give you I think compozine to keep you from getting sick. it doesn't work. There is a better drug for that, but it is expensive, so they don't use it as much. I think it starts with a Z, that is all I can remember. I finally got it, and it worked great! Maybe your doctor can tell them to give that to you right off. I wish you much luck, and will say a prayer. I'm sure you will be fine. They do so many of these, they are good at it! Keep in touch. Jennifer Mason (bogiefan)

I first had a left mastectomy and right lumpectomy, but had to have second surgery because he found more when he was in there the first time, so had right removed also. Am just one week out from second surgery so not time to get breast forms and mastectomy bras but am looking around to see my choices. I've been on a couple sites but in both cases I have not seen an area where I can order a catalog. Do you have a catalog for your products and have you found it hard to get catalogs from manufacturers? I really want to shop around and get exactly what I want and not be pushed into anything in particular by a salesperson. Advice, help???
