Breast lymphoma?

Hello:

I posted here a couple of weeks ago having been diagnosed with bc. I just went in for a second opinion before approving my treatment plan. We have this great clinic at our teaching hospital where you get to see a team -- surgeon, radiologist/oncologist, chemotherapy/oncologist. Anyway, the chemo oncologist looked at my slides from the pathology lab, and he thinks it could be lymphoma rather than bc. They're getting my biopsy tissue from the lab for further testing, and will get back to me on what I should do.

I've done a bit of internet research, but I guess I need more info about the kind of lymphoma this would be before I can learn about treatments and prognosis. Has anyone here been through this, or does anyone know anything that might help? My docs didn't provide a lot of info, probably because they don't want to get my hopes up or scare me without being sure what we're looking at. But I wouldn't mind having some clue what to hope for.

Thanks!

Lisa

Thanks! You are an answer to prayer, I think. University Hospital was a second opinion, and I was going with another surgeon working at a hospital I really like. But it turns out she's in a big rush to get the surgery done if I need it and she actually booked me at a different hospital -- one that is WAY WAY far away and VERY inconvenient for my family, and one that I'm not familiar with at all. I've been wondering whether I should switch to the surgeon who gave me the second opinion, but I was wavering. Your note may have been a confirmation -- if so God will keep pointing me that way. He's surely been leading me thus far.

    Thanks again!

Well, it's not lymphoma. So now I'm back to surgery, followed by chemo and radiation. But from what I understood about lymphoma, I think I'm relieved.

Thanks for your good thoughts. You're all in my prayers.

    Blessings!
