    A personal story of donating in a foreign country, in 1999 after 3 previous vists on my own sail boat to Cuba, took up a collection of clothing, personal use items and candy from my neighbors to donate to kids in a orphanage that we had visited. This was all new stuff, not someone elses hand me down and I filled the aft stateroom of a 44 ft. so there was a lot. Upon arrival at Cuban Customs( Marina Hemmingway) I was told that I could only bring in $100 in value to distribute personally everything else must go to the government I'm sure I provided Christmas for those who confiscated it. ....Steve

    Your story about wanting to donate things to Cuban orphans reminds me of when I came back from the Grenada Invasion in 1983. I was a newlywed at the time and my wife and I were trying very hard to have a baby. Little did I know at the time, but she was about 3 months pregnant. Wanting to hand out some good cigars if/when we did have a baby, I brought back 2 cases of Cuban cohibas. No one told us what was legal to bring back and what wasn't, so upon arrival back at my base, I was promptly arrested for smuggling contraband material. The charges were dropped later when the evidence was destroyed in a series of small fires.

    Ostomy Supplies

    I am stranded in Mpls and I am running out of ostomy supplies. Does anyone know where I can get some. I have no money and really need the help!

    I could really use some supplies stranded in Mpls. Someone tried to steal my car and now I am stuck here and running out of supplies.
