    My two cents

With all of the meds we are already using, do you need another chemical in your life?

We use Mollases or Raw Stevia.   This year I also started to collect Mullien.  It grows wild in the AZ Mountains and tastes like stevia.  Completely natural and has been used by the Native Americans for centurys.

We stopped using all cans, boxes and frozen foods.   Nothing but real food for us.  It takes us ten more minutes to make dinner, but it is chemical free!  I lost 65lbs over 3 years and am moving well again.  We run the dogs in the mountains 3-5 miles every evening at a low 8 min pace.  At 50 years old, not to bad.  We teach our friends how to cook from real food.  I ask the what they want for dinner and come over and help me put it together.  We have converted many to start using a lot more fresh fruits and veggies in their diet.   I just got my sister started and she has lost 10 lbs in her first month of real food.  Her husband is loving the difference in food taste!

    Just a thought.

    STEVIA

Most everything breaks down to sugar and Splenda is just as bad as Equal and the other chemical sweetners.  Stevia would be your best bet - you just need a pinch to sweeten your drinks.

    I use organic clear Agave

I use organic clear Agave Nectar, on a limited basis.

Stevia, i a, I believe is the best of powder sweeteners. It's a plant.

    I would use organic sugar

I would use organic sugar before I would ever use any artificail sweeteners.

    Organic sugar, honey or Molassis

    Nothing artificial for me.

We cannot survive without sugar, which is why the body converts food to sugar. The key is finding the right balance through the use of the right foods.

its a learning curve, and by asking questions, you are definitely on the right path.

    sugar

Sorry, I've promised myself many times not to get dragged back in to the sugar vs. cancer convo, but here I go again...

IMHO through all research I've done, it's the blood sugar SPIKES in your blood which cause the body to release insulin to control them - along with insulin-like-growth-factor (aka IGF-1)  IGF1, as it says, is a growth factor for all cells in your body...including cancer.  So the theory is to try to reduce the spikes...either by eating less foods that break down quickly into sugar in your body, or taking fats and fiber to reduce the speed of blood sugar spikes after eating carbs, or other meds that can control blood sugar.  (FYI exercise is a good way to control blood sugar).

Intuitively I am very much understanding of folks who prefer not to use "fake sugar" that is artificial and processed, but, truth be told, some sugar substitutes indeed have been shown NOT to induce the blood sugar spikes of normal sugars in your diet.  IMHO Stevia is a fantastic sugar substitute because not only does it not result in the same blood sugar (and IGF-1) spikes as regular sugars, but it's also naturally-occurring.

idk!! The world tells me no

idk!! The world tells me no sugar with cancer ... My onc insists that is a MYTH!! So, for years I have been wondering about sugar! I just try moderation. My onc says starving your body of anything is just nonsense because your body will take something else and make it anyhow!

    Interesting

For some reason, I have never known what amount of sugar we are supposed to consume each day, and this article answered that question.

I think I have a bit of work to do, to cut down on my sugar intake.

We use much less sugar(s) in

We use much less sugar(s) in our diet by using Mollases or Honey.   Yes, one wants to avoid sugar spikes.  Carbos are also sugars and need to be evened out in our diets also.

If I did not have cancer, I would be extremely healthy.  Every Doctor tells me that when they look at my charts. I wish my body knew how healthy it was and I could stop getting chemo!

Diet is a large part of having a healthy body.  Why not do as much as posible on something that you can control, then making things more difficult for your body to digest.
