Ixabepilone/Xeloda Combo?

Hey!

Have any of you done Ixabepilone / Xeloda chemo combo platter?  I have been taking Xeloda for a while but they are going to add Ixabepilone to it soon.  (Sounds like something Exxon would make - maybe it will make run better)

I'm just wondering how Ixabepilone made you feel?

Thanks!

Marty

    Thanks New Flower!

Thank you New Flower!  Today they decicded to 'rest' from the Xeloda and just start Ixibepilone alone for a while.  The Xeloda had burned my feet and hands and that needs to clear up.

I've been doing pretty well.  After being on Taxol for all of 2013, I had been feeling pretty well.  Still my tumor marker CA 15-3 was rising even though my PET scans were clear.  Then, my PET scans quit being clear and I started Xeloda about 4 months ago.  It slowed progression but didn't stip progression so we are changing to that other weirdly named chemo :)

I've been watching the posts but just not posting much myself.

Thank you for asking!  How are you doing?

    Good luck

    Marty,

Good luck with this new Chemo, I hope it will work and put you into remission again.

I was on Xeloda for 8 maths in 2012 -2013. It did help a lot. Than clinical trials and faslodex. Recent scan showed progression in pelvic area. I am condering radiation for pain management and improving function of my leg. The doctor added Femara, which I started 3 weeks ago. Pncologist anticipates a new drug approval by the end of this year. hang on the new dream drugs with minimal side effects are coming.

    I don't like Ixabepilone!

    New Flower,

I would sure love a dream drug with minimal side effects!  It is very encouraging that you reminded me of that!  I am not enjoying Ixabepilone at all!!   YIKES!  I had the infusion on Friday, Saturday was ok, Sunday was a little fishy but OK.  Monday and Tuesday - OH MY - not my favorite days.  My tongue turned white, I cant taste anything and my whole body hurts or just feels awful!

They took me off Xeloda because it burned by feet up so bad and changed me to Ixabepilone (which also list the side effect of burning feet)  Guess what?  I'm not feeling any relief in the foot burn category!

WAAAH WAAAH WAAAH!!  I could go on and on but I'm too tired :0

I have had some wonderful results with radiation fixing pain!  I hope your leg is 'up and running' speedy quick!!
