Duke University Cancer Center

I have been referred to Duke University Cancer Center for surgical treatment of my EG junction cancer. That will be after 6 weeks of chemo and 28 radiation treatments (I am receiving in my home town) that I will start next week. Has anyone on this board had experience with Duke? Would love to hear your comments!

Thanks!

Tammy

My dad was there last year for EC, 2nd time around for him. The service and care was fantastic, unfortunately they didn't discover dads recurrence until it had metastised to his liver and lungs, he passed away July 2013. == this week on April 17th (which ironically was dad's birthday) I was told I have EC = I haven't started anything yet, meet with surgeon next week. My GI thinks I will have a good chance at eliminating because we caught it so early, but I know more tests are coming. ( I have had Barretts for about 10 years, it was a routine screening that found the cancer.

    So sorry to hear

I was told that EC isn't hereditary. I pray that's correct because I have 2 girls that I worry about. Hat news have you found out?
