2 Years

It's been 2 years since I lost my wife to cancer. I still get angry sometimes, well alot of times when I hear about a new advancement or even when someone beats it. Does any one else feel this way?

    Sorry

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I am on vacation in Disney World with one of my sons and family. I guess I look at those who beat cancer differently. I'm just really glad that some are beating it. I wish everyone could.

One of the best things an elderly friend who had been widowed for many years told me was that it took at least three years to begin to adjust. That took a great deal of pressure off me to "get over it " as some suggested. I think, in many ways, my husband and I worked through the anger together. We had six years when he was fighting his cancer to accept that we weren't meant to grow old together. That doesn't mean that I am beyond grieving. I think I will always feel saddened by his loss. Take care, Fay

    Selfish

    Fay,

You have a great way of making me see things the way I should. Maybe I will start to adjust, or maybe I will stay the cranky old man I have become. I think it might be the not growing old together that is the problem.
