Another... OK, so, true to form, I did do my helpful deed for my Cuzzie..  She lives in a smaller town away from a large city.  The soonest she could be seen by a local Dr was almost a month away.. not good enough.  So she asked me if I could get her a referral.  I e-mailed my Onc, who emailed me back in about an hour..  Her appointment is today.  One of the most rewarding things for me is helping others.. whether here or on S.P. or through other methods of contact.   You could say it brings some additional purpose for us all.  And the people here are "Aces"..!!!  (especially you wonderful women..)

It is almost 5 am, soon the sun will shine today..!!!!

There has not been a better supporter of everyone here, and there, for that matter, than Ron. Always with a positive outlook. Humor in the face of disaster. Comforting all when panic strikes. He deflects the self attention as unnecessary. He has given the shirt off his back so often to help others he thinks the fruit of the loom label was the signature of a gay tailor. I don't think most people realize how compromised Ron's health has been. This forum by it's nature can be very egocentric. We tend to reach out for others often forgetting our problems may not be as severe as those we ask for help. And what does Ron say? "The sun will shine today!" We all have many lessons to learn from MR. BSA.

Here's to Ron. Your Karma runneth over. Be healthy my friend.

    The Chef

OK, a great story... and guys like Fox will relate.   There are only two racers in the WORLD that have won championships on both 2 and 4 wheels.  One is not from the U.S. and his name is Surtees.  The other is a very well known character who lives locally to me.  This guy used to be our head chef every Wednesday night.. sitting at the BBQ with his glass of wine, telling stories from the past.  Now this guy hung out with guys like Granatelli, Smokey Yunick, A.J. Foyt, etc..  I am talking about Smokin Joe Leonard.  Joe won a bunch of championships on a Harley, back in the 50's.  However he never got a factory ride, boy did Harley screw up..!  He was also a USAC Champ as well.  Joe raced the Indy 500 in the STP Turbine car, which, while in the lead, broke it's throttle linkage on the last lap.. he was laps ahead of the eventual winner.  That Turbine car was immediately banned from competition it was so fast..!  Now Joe is around 80 years old now... and he has had like two heart attacks.  Joe no longer tends the BBQ, but he is with us almost every Wednesday..  He still has his dinner and glass of wine.  Well maybe two or more glasses is more accurate.  Now I  should say that Joe is a big guy.. not some puny jockey..!  And Joe has some awesome stories.. we should record some of them... but wait some are not G.P. Rated... oh my...   Joe's left arm is in a sling and his one foot is not 100% either.. and so the health issues have taken him down a notch.. BUT, just ask him about his grand daughter, he lights up with a huge smile...   And Joe always smiles anyway..!

OK, at this point I will tell you that I have yet to shake his hand... but that will soon change.  You see, a work pal of mine from back east has always been a fan of Joe.. and he just e-mailed me and asked me to get Joe's autograph.  This means I HAVE to shake Joe's hand.  Imagine putting your right hand in to a very large press and having someone pull the handle and not let go...  that is how Joe shakes hands... it WILL hurt, I will see stars..!  I will beg for him to let go..!  That is our Joe..!!

Looking forward to the rock crusher soon....

    Yes, Life is good..!

    Thanks Ladies..!  Well, my

Thanks Ladies..!  Well, my local eye doc could not find anything wrong with my left eye.  My right eye "she thinks" may of gotten a bit worse.  I suspect she does not have enough magnification to see it.  I will wait a few days and see what happens.  The only "treatment" are heat packs on my eyes 4 times a day. In 1993 I had what is called Toxoplasmosis, which was slayed by heavy steroids. but left floaters in my right eye, plus occasional hemmoraging.   That part is fine, and no hemmoraging in about 15 years.  However my Doctor back then used three levels of magnification to see inside the eyeball.  Looking back it was kind of funny, two large pieces of magnifying glass both pressed up against my eyeball, then the third one on his head.  Seeing very small things inside the eyeball is difficult for the doctor, but easy for me to see.  If I have any additional concern I will try to contact my old doctor who is a 3rd generation Opthalmic Surgeon.  This guy is awesome..!  As we all know, getting the right doctor is key...

    my sister-in-law has had

my sister-in-law has had bouts of toxoplasmosis; she was told that her childhood pet, a cat, was to blame.

    the bad news: it is a recurring thing which feels miserable;

the good news: it is NOT life-threatening.

    Sarah, Toxo should not

Sarah, Toxo should not repeat..  I took some heavy drugs which included steroids and it killed that little bugger.  The parasite is common to cat feces, and you get it prenatal.  This is why doctors are supposed to tell expectant Mothers about hygene and ask about cats in the house.  The Mom injests the parasite and the parasite goes to the fetus.. and to a water source.  This is typically the eye or the brain.  They really can not treat it in infants, which can be a big problem.  A gal pal of mine (lost contasct with her, boo), her X's kid had the parasite eat part of his brain.   I was luckier, my immune system kept it in check until my 30th birthday, then it woke up and started eating.. I have several floaters due to that.. but no big deal.

And yes, the Turbine car was known as the Andy Granetelli STP Turbine Car...

Fox.. I love it..!  Well in

Fox.. I love it..!  Well in the last few days... I helped another person.. it really did not take much.. but it made a difference.  This person has all these Cancer symptoms, and her local Dr is dismissing her.. not good.  So, I send off an e-mail to my Onc.. who gives me a referral.  Well, this person had a check up yesterday by a junior league Doctor, but he did write a scarey report...  Today the main man was contacted and he had a good plan of action, ordered up all the needed tests and got the wheels in motion.. oh yes and he will do the surgery..  Aha..!  The right "referral" works..!    You all know how good it is to help others, when they fear the Cancer crap.. and are not able to think clearly, etc.   I was never a Boy Scout... maybe I am now...    Today is a "Fell Good" day... bright sun, warm.. had lunch on the ocean... yup, life is good..!!

    Be Well All..!!!
