    Tomorrow is today...

A little late, but wanted to add my good wishes! Remember, walking and water are key to a speedy recovery.

    Good luck and Godspeed.

Go get'em nsb! I've been here so long now, that I don't get concerned or worried when people are scheduled for nephrectomies. I get excited for them. It may very well be the most important thing they ever do for themselves and their families. I may be a little warped. (ok alot warped). But when people are frightened of the procedure and the pain, I smile. We've all been there. It gets better.

surgery was a success.  The hardest part of recovery is all of the annoying beeping noises in the hospital And the fact that hospital beds are not made for tall people.  i can't wait to take a shower.

    Thanks again for your support

Good going... the deed is done..!  Yes time to heal... do not over do it... you may feel good but.. it takes time..  OK, so why not just flirt with all the nurses.. they tend to like it.. and once the doctors see you flirting with them.. well they will kick you out faster..! (they won't like you flirting with THEIR nurses).   Well maybe not, but it passes the time with more smiles... Wink

    Nsb,

Now that you are home you can relax for awile. Not that you feel like doing much else.

Those pain medications do make you constipated and no one in their right mind wants to be constipated a week after RCC surgery. So take something to soften up.

Sometimes not.. my body was working the second day after surgery...  I thought I was ready on day one and they brought me a bed pan... just lots of gas.  Day two, I said NO to the bed pan, get me up.. they brought me a portable commode, and I promptly filled it up..!  They all cheered.. geesh..  They did give me a stool softener but I think that was precautionary..  all was well in that area...  Maybe because I did not have the epidural..?  Don't know, but if that is a benefit, I would do it again.. just had the button and the booster shot of drugs when needed.  Then again, we are all different...

    Heal Up..!

    Congratulations...

You've passed our little hazing and initiation ritual and are now a full fledged member even though you never wanted to join! You are going to start feeling better very soon, but don't push it too hard. Get some rest do a little walking and drink plenty of water, you'll be your ole self before you know it. Welcome back!!!
