    You betcha!

Oh, yes! My Facebook nom de plume is "Sea Town." It's a great way to keep in touch. I don't write much, if anything, about health there--I save that for Caring Bridge.

    I'm not

I feel like I'm in the minority of people who don't do Facebook.  Around the office, I'm known as "Low-Tech Kelly" for good reason! Smile

    Yes

I am on Facebook too. I really liked it when I was going through chemo and could post a quick message once, and it would reach many.  Quick way to communicate.

    I am!

Cancer doesn't get much mention on my Facebook page, either.  I love keeping up with friends all over the world, and "young" people who have grown and lead such exciting lives!

    I am on Facebook

I don't have a lot of FB friends unlike my daughter who has thousands. I reconnected with a few relatives and past co-workers through FB.

I tried 2 closed ovarian cancer groups for a while, but then opted out because I found it overwhelming to keep track for all their updates and comments.

I'm on Facebook...  I use it

I'm on Facebook...  I use it to keep in touch with friends from the past and present especially since we moved.  My theory on FB is if I wasn't friend with you in elementary or high school I definetly do not want them as FB friends.....  i make it a habit to do "Spring Cleaning" on FB twice a year.  If I don't communicate with you in that time frame  I don't really value your friendship so  I delete them...

I too do not talk much about my cancer.  I do post my test results and stuff because friends asked me too so they know how I am doing.

One thing that drives me nuts about is fB is the people who find it necessary to Check in EVERYWHERE they go.  I had one guy I went to high school with post Work bound on his page.  Next I know he stopped for gas, stopped for coffee at Tim Hortons and stopped at Barnes and Noble before he walked throught he doors at work.  INSANE..  Bye bye to him.

People need to realize that when you post you are not home  and where you are or how long you will be gone you open your self up to freaks knowing you are not home.  They my as well post "I won't be home till 6:00 come rob me".....

    I am

In fact lately I am on Facebook more than I come here.  I am in two cancer-related groups and I get what you're saying, Alexandra.  I don't post about cancer on my own page.  I don't have a lot of friends, I also believe in just being friends with real friends.  However if someone sends a friend request I find it hard to decline.  It feels rude.  One of the first persons to send a request was a popular girl from school who never spoke to me.  I accepted.  Strangely enough she died a few months later from complications after surgery.  I had wished her well and glad I did.  I am in The Teal Warriors and Sisterhood of Ovarian Cancer Survivors.
