Approaching colonoscopy...

I've found some comfort and knowledge since finding this family of survivors & caregivers.  I would like to ask for some support & prayers as I approach yet another colonoscopy.  Jan. 27 is when I will be having my next one.  I am anxious, which I'm sure most of you can understand.  I try not to be.  I have been having symptoms, like before.  I am thankful that we have the capabilities to treat this disease.  Thank you all for being here and taking the time for one another.  I feel priveledged to be able to ask this of you all.

I love it when I'm getting a personal exam and the Dr. tells me to relax.

We all handle situations differently and I can tell you to relax until I'm blue in the face, but you have to handle this as you feel comfortable.

I also know its diffetent depending on what you expect. My last colonoscopy (last week) is six months post treatment, and I really expected all to be fine, so I was pretty relaxed about it.

You say that you feel there are problems, and that makes a whole bunch of difference to how you approach it. I pray that even with your apprehensions, you are able to do some things that may elliviate the stress just a little.

Meditation (which I have never yet tried), aromatheraphy, cleansing thuoghts, prayer (if you're into that), all of these can help a little and a little is better than nothing.

Just know that you have a whole forum worth of people routing for you in many different ways.

Will be thinking of you on the 27th and hoping you let us know how it goes.

    Scope

Wishing you the best scope and that you are clear.  It's already a stress on someone when they have to do this, but the days before it seem so long just wishing that it could hurry up and get it over with.  You are in a good company of people that have always been there so it's a very familiar place to us all.  Let us know how things go - the prep is worse than the scope, but hearing a good outcome is the best.
