Life Is Good

2 1/2 years ago I had good reason to believe I would not ring in 2014. Here it is, January 1, 2014. I am sitting in front of a roaring fire with my wife and two dogs, all of whom adore me, drinking 15 year old single malt scotch and eating the best fruit cake I have ever tasted. We all die but the real secret is to live in the now. Now is all anyone has. Anyone, sick or not. Anything More is an illusion. Enjoy your now! I wish you all a very prosperous and healthy new year. I have my last treatment January 28. My only grandchild is walking. What more could a person ask for?

 Cheers

    Great Insight

A great post, GKH .  I have been told I was probably a goner twice in the last 28 years, so I know the feelings.  That malt sounds good.

    Happy New Year

A wife and dogs who adore you, a toddling grandbaby, Scotch with fruitcake, and the end of your Lymphoma treatment in sight. Good to see you really are enjoying the Now.

    Cheers!

    Congrats

    GKH,

Congrats, I am so glad to hear that your are nearing the end of your treatment and found a way to enjoy yourself and find peace within. I will only speak for myself, but I am sure everyone on here will agree that it is a long road that we all have/ must endure and you have done it !!! When you look back, I am sure that the 2 1/2 years seems so long ago, but felt like it flew by at the same time. It brings me such joy to hear of people doing well with their treatments and overcoming/ maintaining this horrible disease.

Best Wishes for your NEW YEAR
