Just wanted to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and all the best in the New Year.

I am a 24 year survivor of Non Hodgkins Lymphoma, had two bouts of cancer early in the 24 years and have been struggling with various side effects of the treatments ever since.  However, at Christmas time I always find that my thoughts turn away from all the pains and medical issues that I deal with throughout each year and realize how many wonderful times I have been able to live through due to medical breakthroughs and treatments that have prolonged my life.  It's indeed a time to be thankful for many things, the big and the small, and to appreciate  family and friends we have around us.

Some of us, I know, feel very much alone at this time of year as well and cancer alone can do that, make us feel alone even if there are people around us - singles us out if you will - but I have found that this site helps a great deal to make those of us who deal with cancer, or it's side effects,  feel just a little less alone because you will find many here who too have shared our situation with cancer, making us feel just a little less lonely.

No matter what your situation or condition please know that you are not alone in your fight with cancer and also know  that this is the season of perpetual hope ( I think that line is from 'Home Alone', lol) but it's true and I do hope you all get a sense of that hope during this wonderful time of the year.

Again, Merry Christmas to you all and I wish you all a miracle, or two, over the course of the season and into the new year.

Blessings,

Bluerose

    Happy New year

Thanks Bluerose.  wonderful words of encouragement for all of us.  We do have new hope each year. I have survived CNS NHL for a few days short of 4 years and like you note that many are very lonely at this time of year. I have such an appreciation of life and my family that was not true for me at least not this year.  Thanks again.  It is so encouraging to hear from someone who has lived for 24 years with this snarky thing and who is still so positive.
