Please if anyone has some guidance on what product may help with scalp itch.  We have just switched to using Johnson/Johnson baby shampoo.  If you have had good success with any OTC cream that will give relief please let me know.  We have used aquafor and that helps.  Hoping to find somethng that works quickly.  Wife's hair is beginning to grow back and that may be some of the problem.  Any help is so appreciated.

Brain surgery scalp itch is brutal too

After brain surgery last year right up till now the incision area itch at times is horrible. I'm suprised I have not scratched a open wound in my scalp. I'm going to have to try something too. Let us know what helps/works please if you try something. I will too. Thanks.

    incision itch

It can be irritating where the incision was, and I've noticed even along some of the indentations.  As the nerves which were severed heal, they like to send those zingy little pains and itches all over the place. The bone healing is a deeper itch that's irritating as well.  I've found that avoiding hot water helps, and that a cool compress like an ice pack in a towel can help.  Sometimes just pressing my fingertips along the itchy spot will calm the nerves down without scratching.

    Nerve pain and itching

Yeah, the nerve pain at the incision and the bone is gawd awful. It's like someone poking me with a super sharp pointy needle. My side where 1/3 of the right lung was removed, those nerve pains are really bad too. I can't or will not itch my right side. I can't stand anything touching me there now after the surgery. My right side is very numb but I hate anything to touch it. I can sleep on my right side. Took about 5 to 6 months after surgery before I could sleep on my right side.

    nerves

Nerves are very slow to grow and heal, and if they don't reconnect properly, willl likely never return to pre-surgical state.  I've a few places on my body where I've had surgery and have either numb or hypersensitive areas from the nerve regrowth.  It can be so irritating but I've learned not to scratch some places!  I can sleep on the left side of my head again but If I do that for too long I still get a headache from it.

    Surgery scars and itching

I have right about five feet of surgery scaring from 6 surgeries over my lifetime so I am unfortunately very familiar with the itching and discomfort that goes along with surgeries. It is the same each time. Itch itch itch!
