    Oh wow!

Nice catch!  We just sold our house and the first of the year will be moving to our new one ON THE LAKE!  Woohoo!  It's a lake you can't swim in, but you can fish and have a boat.  (yeah...I have no idea! haha)

Hope you enjoyed your crappie day :)

    fishing for

    Skiffin,

I am hungry; will you be showing the dinner picture?

Is it still shorts and sandals weather or jeans and sneakers?

Where you by yourself or with others?

What kind of fight do they give?

    Do you use a net?

Do you have room for on more (fisherman)?

    Got me hooked,

    Matt

    P.S. I raked leaves today.

    Always Room....

    Always room for you Matt....

It's always (or nearly) shorts and flip flops for me, LOL.... Florida is one of those places that winter fishing weather starts out cold at the crack of dawn, so it's shorts, jeans, tank top, short sleeve shirt, long sleeve shirt (all three on)... and sperrys....with a knit watch cap...

By noon, everything is peeled off and down to the shorts, tank top, and bare footed, LOL...

I was with a buddy today actually...., trolling small jigs, they don't fight a lot, even the biggest is usually less than 2#. But they are tasty little creatures...

And yes, always use a net for the bigger ones... They have very thin skin around their mouths..., they actually call them paper mouths. If you lift a heavy one, 1 1/2# or more. It'll tear the skin and you'll lose that fish.

You need to come down during summer, I can put you on some flounder.... Bigger fish, more fight, and equally as tasty..

    Crap

So today you decided not to keep crap to yourself but instead decided to give a friend some crap. But yet, friends are always a good catch and besides, that what friends are for. Myself, I spent my Saturday like Matt sucking up leaves and piling them high in the woods thinking to myself the whole time, spending my Saturday like this is a bunch of crap. But then I chose to live in the woods. I did however enjoy some crap in the plural form Friday night when I played craps but there was something fishy going on so I walked away saying "O Crap" a few dollars short of what I started with.

Good catch John and tell your other good catch I said HI!!

    Enjoy the day

Bro,in law. whenever I stay with them we go fishing, sometimes lake sometimes sea. we have a favourite spot where an old alligator sticks its head out waiting for rejects. (We are on a jetty)  It's pretty crappy today in uk dull, cold, and getting dark at 3.15. wish I was there.

    Love fishing

What a great post, I love fishing, bass, bluegil, crappie, freshwater, there is nothing better than being out at the lake early in the AM before anyone else enters the park or in the evening with one of my boys.  Thanks for the uplifting post.

    What a Haul

    John:

What a haul or mess of fish you caught.  My daddy was quite the fisherman and where we went on vacation growing up was on Watts Bar Lake near Harriman TN and he and my grandmother (his mother who was quite the fisherman herself!) along with my three brothers would stay out all night fishing if they were biting good.  Our family photos have several pix of them holding end to end  a long string of fish mostly crappie (don't know how you prounce it in FL but we Tenneeseans pronounce it as if it's spelled croppie!)  Keep up the good work.   THe dinner pix was great too!
