That's a mighty big tumor.  Did you have any symptoms?

    Surgery

    bcbigb,

Good luck on the surgery. It definately beats the alternative. Many members are doing well even with a little extra baggage to start.

    Nervous and Hopeful!

Yep, that kind of describes it in a nutshell.

Lay back, relax and sleep through it. The surgeons have the hard part for now.

You have your work cut out onrecovery.  Take your time, do not rush things! Stay hydrated and sleep, often.  The dread is the worst part.  The rest is no picnic, but I suspect you are up to it!

Check in when you can!  I'll be thinking of, and praying for, you Fromn bedtime tonight until we hear back!

    Be calm.  You've got this!

Good toughts your way.  My tumor was the same size and removed on October 5th of last year.  The surgery is not as bad as it sounds although make sure you got the TV ready with Cable and netflix for two weeks!!!!

I was just thinking back to

I was just thinking back to my mom's surgery in March of 2012.  She was 8o years old and had to be intubated for three days in the ICU.  Came home the day after they took the tube out and less than a week later she was up in the kitchen cooking!  I have to remember what a trooper she was and how she pushed herself to get up to cook.  Now looking back on it, I see how amazing she is!  So, I guess what I want to say is.. don't rush to get up and cook but know that you will be able to  handle this and move on! I guess the surgery is done by now and you  are in recovery!  I hope all went well! Waiting to hear how you are when you are up to it. In the meantime, prayers are going out for you!

    Moving quickly

The good news is that you haven't had to wait a month or two for surgery. Waiting is harder than recovering from the procedure. Good luck tomorrow. Life is more precious now. Treat it that way. You'll do fine. We understand your thoughts.

    Welcome back

    Brian,

I'm sorry to hear you had such a rough go of it.  That was probably about as scary as the cancer.  I'm glad you are past that and at home resting.  So everything with your left kidney is ok now?  It was probably just in shock from losing it's buddy.  We will be hoping for the best on your path report.  Keep us updated when you are up to it.

I am glad to hear you are recovering well, and the results are good, considering what you were expecting from the size of the tumour. My tumour was just over 4 cm but was a grade 3, so the size does not always indicate a higher grading. Are your next set of scans scheduled for 6 months?
