Got into my room (Update spoke with surgeon)

A couple of hours ago, they came took blood pressure, temp and left.  Have'nt seen anyone since.

 Doing great when first woke up, was in great pain as the epidural wasn't in place they were sticking all kinds pain killers in IV. The anesthesiologist showed up and moved it annd INSTANT pain relief!!!  But fell back to sleep with all the added pain killers hitting my system started working so spent a couple extra more hours in recovery.  Feeling great like normal with no pain!

Did non-step flatuance  when I sat on toilet seat, was worried so that test to leave the hospital is already done.

UPDATE: Spoke with the surgeon today who by the  way was shocked that I greeted him from down the hall as he started to enter my room, as I had been walking.  He was "You look good, you look really really good", well heck ya, you cut that tumor that was hurting me out, of course I'm doing good :).  I asked him about the tumor, he called it a "large mass" and and he said that it wanted to come out of the colon even without surgery it was coming out of the confines of  the colon.  I now feel VINDICATED in insisting on the surgery :)!

    Sounds like you are doing pretty good.  Looks like food will move normal thru digestive track so maybe tomorrow you can get some gourmet jello.  Nice to hear from you.

    How wondeful to hear from you so quickly after your surgery.  It sounds like you are doing great considering what you are going through. 

    Isn't it wild that farting becomes so important.  I walked and walked after my colon resection trying to come up with one. They wouildn't let me eat until I had. 

    I pray you will continue to recover well.

    So glad you got surgery after all you went through. Isn't it funny that us cancer folks love to hear the word surgery. Hope your recovery is easy on you.

    I'm so glad that you pushed and got this surgery done.  It's a good reminder that we have to advocate for ourselves sometimes.

    When will these Doctors clue in to the fact that we, the patient, often know what is going on with our bodies and to listen to us? 

    I'm SO SO SO glad that you pushed and got the surgery, and now, look how well your doing; up and about and impressing not just the  surgeon but us too.

    Keep up the good work, and we'll be keeping up the love and support.

    being that i have this condition also

    Did the install an iliostomy or did they reconnect so you can go normally and was this your first surgery down there close to the rectum or had you had others, they left my tumor in this time and placed a stint with hopes of opening it up and killiing the cancer with chemo, so far i have had one treatment of the new drugs, my white blood count is really low, constant fevers, pain when i eat, touble passing stool. The last treatment i had yesterday, i had a sever allergic reaction, had to stop treatment, 

    this is one of the first times in 4 years that i have been fighting this cancer that i am really afraid of what the future may hold.

    Right there with you girl in that worry department.   This is first one in sigmoid area, the last one was on right side colon where they removed I think 18 inches on that side. They did not have to give  illiostomy.  I haven't asked the surgeon how much he removed on this operation (I forgot to yesterday and haven't seen him today). I'm mostly worried because this was a new primary that right after 2nd liver resection in the end of May, spread new tumors to it and so in May had three tumors removed from liver and here in September have three more back in the liver.

    i would have gone with chemo, but since this new primary spread cells so fast and pain was so great I went with having it removed first.

    have you talked with them about removing tumor?  What were their thoughts about? is it because of the palliative care thing, or is something more pressing that made them decide to go with the stent?  I felt that since the spread tumors were far slower growing then the new primary, I wanted the new primary put FIRST AND FOREMOST and let's do the chemo on the slower stuff in a few weeks!
