    not bad
Kenny...I think that just tells the docs that some types of chemo will not be of benefit to you. Good to know so they can try something that will work!

    Erbitux

The drug Cetuximab (Erbitux) will not work for KRAS mutant type individuals.  If you were KRAS wild-type, it would most likely be given after Folfox/Folfuri is no longer working to suppress the cancer cells.

"Cetuximab is indicated for the treatment of patients with epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR)-expressing, KRAS wild-type metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC), in combination with chemotherapy, and as a single agent in patients who have failed oxaliplatin- and irinotecan-based therapy and who are intolerant to irinotecan."

    Take care,

    KRAS means that some Chemos

KRAS means that some Chemos are  not going to be effective.  (Luckily some of the most destructive to the body chemos are not going to be administered!)  I would go to a real professional like Lenz @ USC, UCSD, Sugerbaker in DC, etc...

    Best Always,  mike

No Kenny not a really bad thing

It just means that certain chemo's won't do  you much good. For instance being Kras Wild, will give you more availability to other chemo's.  But it is good to know you won't waste your time and body on chemo's that won't work, in your case for instance Erbitux being one of them, it saves you from going to things that won't work well by the knowledge of what you are, in your case Kras Mutant.  Don't feel alone, many are Kras mutant.

vectibix(panitumumab) is also not recommended for those

with a KRAS mutation; it is like Erbitux (Cetuximab)in that both target EGFR

    Statistically, your long term

Statistically, your long term survival is lower as a kras mutant, but still better to have kras than braf.
