Ron is done with treatments as of today!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RON FINISHED RADS TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

long tough road but he got thru it without a peg and one mouth sore.

he has lost 35 pounds and looks ragged.

terrible fatigue, still having nausea from mondays chemo, which was his last.

now he waits, and rests.

THANK YOU ALL

who have helped with advice on preventative care.

mugard helped along with the l=glutamine, biotenes, xylimelts and stoppers 4.

would never have known about such detailed preventative help if not for you all

thank GOD for my angels on here, God Bless You.

    Whoo Hoo Ron!!

Won't say the worst is over, except he doesn't have to go anywhere everyday.....so he can concentrate on healing.  Ring that bell, dance a jig around the kitchen table....click smoothie glasses and share a toast.....it's down hill from here.....the road to recovery becomes pavement just around the next bend.

    funny side note,

ron brought home his mask. had it in the trunk and I stopped for groceries. The bag boy went to load the groceries in the trunk and flinched.

guess you never know what you will find in a trunk.

ron brought it in the house and our bichon dog freaked out barking and growling at it.

I guess it is very scary looking.

ron is taking it to his brothers farm in south dakota in the spring. going to blow it up or get the shotguns out.

    great news!

Glad to hear you are now post-tx. You will find such a change in pace. All those daily appointments and frequent visits to all the doctors and calls and all that just grind to an immediate halt. As each week post tallies up, the stranger it feels being shuffled out the door like last weeks fad. Seriously, the quiet and calm is deafening. Do enjoy it and use that time and quiet to sleep and sleep and just get on the mend. Best to you both, don

    Yeah!!! That is wonderful!

Yeah!!! That is wonderful! Remember the next few weeks can still be pretty tough so don't get discouraged. I know I did when I didn't feel better as soon as I thought I should. It will get better. And before you know it you will be getting that clear scan that I just know is coming.

    thankyou boardwalkgirl,

anxiety has already set in with ron, anxious for what may come in the future.

    I totally understand the

I totally understand the anxiety. If I knew a way to not have it, I would certainly give him advice but a year later, I still have it. I think with each clear scan, you might get a little less worried but it doesn't go away and I doubt if it ever will. But I do try to not let it control my life. I made up my mind that I will not let it control my life. I go head and plan things for the future such as vacations, etc which gives me hope for the future. We took our 3 grandchildren on a trip to Disney in June this year and I waited until I came back to get my scan as I wanted to enjoy my trip. I will be praying for all of you.

I am loving the good news. Tell Ron he is allowed a sigh of relief while he rests and heals on. You deserve credit for pushing him forward I know the road was tough for you also.

    Take care

I will ring my bell (not tonight the neighbors will freak)

    Janet,

My Mom calls me an angel, now you use the label, guess I will have to behave.

Congratulations to both of you, I understand that the caregiver is a hard spot to handle.  Well, we could not make it through this organized mess without you, Thanks

    thanks patrick and jeff

matt, this angel has horns holding the halo up. I had to fight and bite to get him to stay on the preventative regimine.

But so far he only got bitey on wednesdays due to the chemo.

he is really fatigued more this week than ever.

having hard time swallowing and definitely using the magic mouthwash with lidocaine a lot now.

no pain meds. but the dry mouth and swallowing are the worst , xylimelts are some relief.

    again,

    thankyou
