Exactly 1 year and 500 posts ago I joined CSN.

2 months after OVCA diagnosis, 1 month after BRCA+ test result, in the middle of my second round of chemo; 2 months before debulking surgery. I was overwhelmed, emotionally broken and suicidal.

I was fortunate enough to find this board and meet all of you wonderful "teal sisters". I can't stress enough how grateful I am for all the support, advice, friendship and warm shoulders to cry on. Thank you for putting up with my morbid sense of humor, lack of social graces, posting boring scientific links no one cares about and my English as second language.

I love y'all. Stay strong. Stay well.

    Dear teal sister!

I'm so sorry you have to go through all of this. It is not ease road. You and me, and all teal sisters become more stronger. more knowledgeable and understanding life better. I read every post (500) of yours, it is always so great pleasure. I'm so proud of you and part of it -  because we have same roots. I wish you long, long... NED, and, if it is possible, cure, love you, Zina :).

All of that is why we love you!  You bring life into the boards with you black humor, whit, and your amazing detecting skills(remember the great Norma 11 caper)!  Here's hoping for 5,0000 more post and many more years here.  That's one reason I troll the OVC board...to see what Alexandria is up to!  Best, Debrajo

    Your anniversary, our gain

To add to what Debrajo just said: I, for one, think that social graces are way down on the list of importance as to what goes on here on this board (!). I know it's been a rough year for you, but your energy and spirit have helped me a lot along the way.

May the next trip around the sun bring NED for us all!

    Cheers, Jo

    Ditto

Debrajo said it for me. I'm glad you visit on the uterine board too.  I keep wanting to put your detective skills to use finding out about other MIAs but fear Greta might kick us off the board.  Sigh....

    Alexandra,

Your "morbid sense of humor, lack of social graces, posting boring scientific links no one cares about and my English as second language." are what make you delightful! Your English is perfect, you are hilarious and often outrageous, just what is needed on this very serious discussion board, and definitely part of what keeps me coming back  (along with my dread of ovca). Looking forward to your next 500 posts.

I have to admit that it feels like you've been on this board much longer due to the wealth of information, support and laughs that you've provided.  I treasure you and every other teal sister on this board.

    Thank you everyone!

I would rather celebrate dates like that than "Cancerversaries"

Considering a small tasteful barely-there tattoo to commemorate. It's not too much, is it? Laughing

It sure beats "X marks the spot".  You are too funny.  My daughter looked mock sadly at me when I woke up in the recovery room and wistfully said:"  My first home is gone.". I think you 2 share the same sense of humor.

    I love you!

It was because of you that I joined this discussion board!  You really will never know how many women's lives you have touched nor how many spirits you have healed.

    Another thing...

....wait a second while I change my panties...damp from laughing so hard!

I hate to burst your bubble dear, but that tattoo is probably another thing that looks fabulous on the size 2 body, not so much on the size 12 or more.

but if it can hide some of your scars....I say go for it!
