I am kind of late with this post, considering it is already July, but, are you going or have you gone somewhere already for vacation?  Tanning and sipping from an umbrella drink on a beach?  Camping on the weekends?  Enjoying your own backyard?  Finishing up treatment?  Going to the local swimming pool to cool off?  Planning some summer cookouts with friends or family?  Just staying home and doing whatever you feel like?

    We have taken one vacation

We have taken one vacation already.  We flew out West to see my Sister, her husband and family.  We had an awesome time!  I didn't want to leave, but, my husband forced me too.  LOL

She is suppose to be flying out later this summer, so, I will be seeing her soon again.

My husband and I head out

My husband and I head out next Tuesday for two weeks for Juneau, AK, to help with a church project up there.  About 11 of us are going to help out.  We like to do things like this and will consider this our vacation.

Amazing to think that a year ago next Tuesday I finished chemo (and then did rads).  What a difference a year makes!

Right now We're looking for a bigger truck to pull our camper.

    This year we've booked a

This year we've booked a beautiful home right on the Gulf!  We have been here before and loved the house.  Soooooooo looking forward to it!  It's in a gated community and we usually have the beach all to ourselves.  And the food!  Amazing!  Fresh fish daily!

There is nothing more relaxing than the water, sun, sand and my wonderful hubby by my side!

My hubby booked our cabin again and it can't come soon enough.  It's always so good to get away from everything and just be able to relax, have fun and be with each other.

Susie, now tell us what you're doing.

We just got back from going

We just got back from going out East.  We thought it might be cooler out there, but, wrong!  lol  We were on the ocean, so, it actually wasn't so bad.  Had a beautiful beach house and got a nice tan.  And the food, OMG, it was delicious!

Hubby and I will be driving

Hubby and I will be driving to Montana in a few weeks.  It's a long drive, but, we prefer it to flying as there is much to see on the way.  We got a new SUV which will make it even nicer.

    Where are you going Susie?

    Love that part of NY.

Love that part of NY.  Although we do not camp, we have spent time in Saranac Lake, Lake Placid, Schroon Lake, and Lake George.  One summer we spent a few days up along the St. Lawrence River.

We just returned from two weeks in Juneau, Alaska.  That, too, is a rather laid-back area.  Although it is the capital of Alaska, it is a rather isolated city.  The only ways in and out are by air or by boat.  We were there to help with a church building project, but we did get to go out to the ocean inlets quite a few times.  We also were out on a small fishing boat for an afternoon/evening.  So beautiful to be out there AND surrounded by mountains all around.

I need to head out to Ohio to visit my elderly parents and will do that some time this month.  School resumes for me the first week of September.

    Desertgirl, Alaska always

Desertgirl, Alaska always looks so beautiful.  You are lucky that you got to go there.  Did you have any trouble with bears?  It seems so many towns have them coming into town looking for food.
