Off topic-moved out

My daughter and grandsons have lived with us exactly 4 1/2 yrs and they moved out last night. IT was over due but it will be so different. She worked evenings, so I DID dinner, homework, sports, bed time nightly.

THEY only moved about 10 mins-i'll see them often-but it will take some getting used to-the house was NEVER quiet! We have a pool, yard and LONG driveway for riding bikes-I know once settled they will be around often.

Denise

our 21 yr old (college) leaves home! But busy with interning and school!

I understand what you must be

I understand what you must be feeling as I had mixed feelings about Katherine leaving (although I also felt like it would never happen...Lol).  Grandchildren must be exponentially harder to separate from?

I know what you mean.  You

I know what you mean.  You kiss their boo boos, nurse them through sickness, cook and clean for them.  You worry when they are not home on time and help them through broken hearts.

And what do they do?  They grow up!  They have a lot of nerve doing that to us.  Ungrateful buggers.

I know it seems like the silence is a quiet whine now, but in time you will find it kind of nice.

Treat yourself to a spa day, or buy your favorite ice cream and eat it all yourself in front of the TV watching your favorite shows.  You have earned it.

I am sure it will be too

I am sure it will be too quiet and not busy enough for awhile.  The good thing is that they still live so close to you that you can see them anytime and they can come over.

It is hard when the kids

It is hard when the kids leave, the house seems so huge all of a sudden.  lol  It sounds like you will still get lots of visits and I know you will love that.

    IT"S been HOT this week...NYS

IT"S been HOT this week...NYS 92 and bad thunder storms last night..

I have not seen the kids since Sunday...MY daughter Is going to try to branch out on her own-she thinks she has been INDEPENDENT=all this time. She will get rude awakening now-but it's time to move on.

I think she will keep the kids away (only 15 mins next town) for awhile-but she has never had them 24/7 (no school, no day care etc) so I am sure they will be coming over regualary in a week or two...

HOUSE is so quiet-I have so much time on my hands. IT is like I quit MY 2nd full time job (HONESTLY they were full time job for me-pick up day care, homework , dinner, sports, library etc

some adjustments-but in the long run it will be best for all...
