    Welcome, Mariscal

I had six treatments of carbo/taxol, every three weeks.  My oncologist told me that for most people, hair starts growing back one to two months after the last treatment.  My hair started growing back about five weeks after my last treatment.  My last treatment was March 24, 2011, which means that my hair started growing back around the end of April.  By the middle of July of that year, I was ready to go hat-free.  Prior to chemo, my hair was very coarse and straight.  After chemo, my hair grew back very soft and more fine and has stayed that way to this day, which I like.  Sorry, but I don't remember how long it took for the other body hair to grow back (eyelashes, leg hair, etc.)

    Hi

Wow, you went through a lot as an expectant mom, but I'm so glad that you only have one round left.  I wore hats and scarfs until I felt like my hair was long enough for me to go out wearing nothing on my head.  So by mid-July when I went hat-free, my hair was still very short.  My hair grows about 1/4 of an inch or slightly more per month, if that helps you.

    Take care,

    Kelly

During my first treatment I had my last chemo

9/16/2010 and by February I got my first haircut.  I thought my hairdresser could shape it up because it grew in kind of scraggly but when she got done it looked like the hairdo I had before treatment.  I wore it short and spikey.

I am without hair again.  I began losing it 5/20/2013, 13 days after the first chemo on 5/07/2013.  My hairdresser came and buzzed it the next day.  Now I am beginning to lose the stubble and my scalp is showing more.

I don't plan on covering my head; I didn't last time.  In the colder weather I wore a cap.  I went to the beach once and totally forgot to cover my head so I came home with a sunburned, blistered head that subsequently peeled.

Losing my hair is always the least of my worries.

    Just go with it!

I had pretty long hair before I was diagnosed.  Six years later I am still short short!  It is easy, fun and fortunately for me my husband and all my friends love it short and think its great!

I think it took about 3 months for my hair to grow back to the point that it looked sort of like I "did it on purpose"  It was funny because when I went to stores and such where I had to show my license they looked at me and said "Oh wow!  When did you decide to cut your hair?"  Of course no one asked me that when I was totally bald and wearing hats or scarves!

So sorry you are going through this - especially so young and finding out while pregnant.  I really can't imagine.  So glad they caught it early!
