    My hubby cut them, thinking

My hubby cut them, thinking it would be easier, but, it was actually harder as they had rough edges.  lol  Sweet of him to try something to help me.  I am getting them down whole.  I hope that in a month, I notice a difference.

    Thanks everyone!

Any relief yet Leeza?  I know

Any relief yet Leeza?  I know it might still be too soon, but, I was hoping that your pain might be getting somewhat better.

    Yes

It is a little box smaller than a pack of cigarettes that clips to your belt (or whereever you want to).  There are 4 electrodes (sort of like the ones used for EKGs.  They are placed on the skin iin a pattern so that  the electric impusles travel in  an X with the center of the X over the area the nerve goes into the spinal cord and it disrups the the nerve sending it's electrical impulse to tell the brain to feel pain.  (I'm sure someone can give you a more complete answer but very basically thats it.)   It is adjusted for you and you can adjust it somewhat as you need to.   When I used mine, everytime I wuld start it I'd get a VERY slight little tingle for about 5 minutes then wouldn't feel it any more unless I increased it.  I am VERY sensitive to electric shocks but it was not bad at all.  I haven't used it in quite a while so think I'll dig it out and try it again.

It is a real medical device, not some gimmick being hawked on late night 'info-mercials'.  Tallk to your Dr about one - might help.

You can google TENS Unit and find a fair bit of info and the units.

    That sounds interesting

That sounds interesting Susan!  I will google it!  Thanks!

Leeza, I had medial nerve blocks which stopped the pain I was having from arthritis.  It isn't permanent, but, it is still working for me.  You might check into that too.

    Voltaren Gel

I use Voltaren Gel, it works wonders.  It is a prescription and not an over the counter drug.

He ordered a bunch of xrays

He ordered a bunch of xrays and blood work, so, I don't have any plan or treatment from him yet.  When I go back for the results, I assume he will have some idea of what to do for me.  I will update you then.

    Thanks a million pink sisters!

I take Naproxen 500mg  I am supposed to take it one to two times a day but I am a bad patient so I take it when in hurt and keep taking it, then I forget cause the hurt stop, then it comes back and I get back to taking it.  It helps a lot!  Hope you find something that works for you!

    just remember prolonged use

just remember prolonged use of ibuprofen can damage the stomach and intestines.  Don't take any longer than 2 weeks with a two week break before taking again.  I find accupuncture gives me the best relief.  Also don't use hot compress.  It doesn't work on inflammation.  Use cold compress for like 10 minutes and take it off for 20 before using again.
