I appreciate that this site is related to cancer, but after having watched the news coverage of the tragic events that are unfolding in Oklahoma, following the tornado. I just wanted to express my thoughts and sympathies to all those effected.

I join Djinnie in her sentiments. Don't know if we have anyone on CSN in Oklahoma or who have loved ones in Oklahoma, but--if we do--know our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Hi,     I am new here and I am from OK.  Thank you for your thoughts and prayers for our state.   Some of our family and friends lost everything they owned and one lost their wife, baby and five year old girl.  We know material things can be replaced but the pain of losing loved ones is forever.   So many have come to help and the outpouring of love and support is amazing . Thank you again.

My story is, one year ago I had a heart attack and a tumor was found in my

right kidney and rcc was diagnosed. I had an ablation and now I have follow up ct scans.   It was a small tumor stage 2.

I just got home from the hospital from having a heart stent, I know there may be more challenges ahead . I am 63 years old and I haven,t been

defeated yet.   I believe the name of the game is fight and never quit.

So thankful to find this site.

So sorry for your terrible losses.

It was a blessing to see, among all that devastation, the spirit and resilience of you Okies.   That sort of spirit - "I believe the name of the game is fight and never quit." will serve you well now.  You'll fit in a treat here with that attitude (but you'd be welcome here anyway, even if you weren't so robust).

If you have more details about your RCC path report it would be useful to know about them to give you further support in the future.

I am sorry to hear your heartbreaking news. To have so much snatched away in such a brief moment in time is unfathomable.

You have a story to tell yourself about your experience with cancer, you are obviously a fighter. You have ready access to a wealth of experience and advice on here. There will always be someone to help if you need it. Also your experience would be helpful to new members.

    All the best to you

    Path Report

    Thank you for your reply.

    My path report reads:

The biopsy demonstrates a focus of conventional renal cell carcinoma of clear cell type.

The lesion shows the typical insular nesting pattern composed of clear cells with delicate

    intervening vasecular stroma.

Renal Cell Carcinoma, Clear Cell Type, Fuhrman Nuclear Grade Of 2

That was all that was on the report.

    Path Report

Combined with your fine attitude, clear cell, small size, stage 2 grade 2 all makes for a very favourable prognosis.  You're going to around for a long time, I think.

    Thank you!

Going for another ct scan soon, I believe all will be ok, but if at sometime it

isn't, I will cross that bridge then.    After cancer and heart problems, I am just

thankful for each new day. I have so much to be thankful for!

I'm proud to be an Okie

Hi msf49.  I too am from Oklahoma.  Mustang to be exact.  And I too, was recently diagnosed with clear cell rcc.  Very scary!  I came home from the hospital, following a radical nephrectomy, on Friday, May 31st and quite litterally went directly in to our storm cellar.  My surgery was on Wednesday, so I was just 2 days post-op, making the steps into and out of the cellar very challenging.  We were fortunate that all we lost were big trees.  Some of our friends weren't so lucky, losing everything, but life.  Lucky for me, I was on good meds and it's all just a blur.

Oklahoma is a great state and I'm proud to be a part of it!

    Thanks for sharing your story.
