    Wishing you comfort during

Wishing you comfort during your recovery.  It sounds like you are up and moving which is great! But, over doing it will only set you back...that I have learned.  As for your new tattoo ... what do you think of the song lyrics "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger"?  Maybe even putting its musical notes as the tattoo on a staff .... sorta would be cool ... with the cancer ribbon maybe?

Hope you are feeling better soon!!

    thank u for all your

thank u for all your opinions. im going with "Never Give Up, Fight Like a girl." and the "what doesnt kill you makes you stronger on a lyrical staff sound very interesting. I swear it seems like Im not getting better as the days go on. Pain is not getting better nor am i feeling better. Plus this pump is still soo uncomfortable. Grrrr....

Keep your suregon and onc informed

I hope you are in touch with your surgeon and oncologist about how you are feeling.

Recovery can be a slow process, but you still want to know that all is going how it should.

We are all concerned for you.

I hope you are going to wait a while before the new tat. Get as recovered as you can before getting inked.

    Liking the new picture.

    Blessings!

    Sorry you aren't feeling well

Sorry you aren't feeling well still.  Try not to do too much too fast.  I think I remember you having a small child at home?  It's really tough to take it easy as a mom, but if you are lifting a lot you will be sore.  Not cancer related, but I had my gallbladder removed 6 weeks after a c-section with my second child and remember feeling well after a couple of days so I was up and down the stairs, taking care of the baby and 2 1/2 yr old, etc. - by that night, I knew I did too much.   Try to let other take care of you for a while!

    sheesh so sorry you're in

sheesh so sorry you're in pain,  hard to rest and sleep when in pain.   I'd contact doctors and let them know the meds are not working, and they can try something that will give you some relief and much needed rest.    Try not to do too much, you need time to heal.

yes i dont like being the one

yes i dont like being the one that has to be taken care of. especially when its to a point where i was bed ridden 4 2 weeks. :( o this has been so terrible.. the docs said the pain would only be tolerable on strong meds so this was major MAJOR surgery. def. when i cant move hardly at all for 2 weeks. glad my son does not live with me full time cause i couldnt even take care of myself at all these past weeks.

    Hard journey

This sounds like a terribly hard journey. I am so glad that you are young and relativly healthy.

I'm sorry you're not able to take care of your son. It must be so hard for you. I hope his caregiver brings him to see you often. They are energetic, and a short visit would lift your spirits.

We're here for you with support. Wish we could take away your pain.

    Have you tried icing?

I was unable to take pain meds after my first surgery because of nausea, and I found that icing the incision pretty much non-stop really helped.  I think I lowered my body temp by about ten degrees, which wasn't very comfortable, but it reduced the pain quite a bit.  And feeling like your insides have been "played with" is actually kind of accurate from what I've been told.  My oldest daughter loves reality medical shows, and she's seen a colon resection done.  It's kind of like unpacking a suitcase and then stuffing it all back in (and not having it all quite fit the way it did when you first packed).  It's no wonder things hurt for a long time after!  Hugs and hope for healing coming your way~AA

Actually I prefer heat as to ice and Ive been using heat since Monday and youre right it does seem to help. Did i say colon resection if so im sorry i had a liver resection,RFA,umblical hernia fixed, and a liver pump put in. I think its just about more than one person can handle at once. Especially since my liver surgery was not laprascopic. im in the works for a cane it just seems like its taking them forever. since the doc got me fixed up and refilled my pain meds on monday im starting to get a lot a lot of strain in my back from not being able to straighten up so i walk around like the hunchback. thank u for ur support:) gentle hugs back* :x

You always lift my spirits. You make me feel so cared about when u dont even know me we just share a bad common ailment. Yes just talking to my son on the phone lifts my spirits. He lives almost 5 hrs. away from me so i dont get to see him often at all which is very hArd to deal with. This surgery has been absolutely horrible and the hardest recovery i have ever even fathomed and i have had quite a few surgeries 2 major ones prior to this surgery. I think I just took this surgery really really bad and it was very major. Like I ttold ann i got cut from side to side for my liver, a resection, rfa, a hernia fixed which i think i have already herniated again and the liver pump put in. But i also love to hear your comments they are very securing to me. xxThank You Allxx :)

    So sorry!

That was my mistake.  Even without the colon resection, that is a lot of surgery all at once.  All of my surgeries have been the full deal too, and it's really a slow process healing from that.  I found that holding a pillow pressed to my gut whenever I walked around helped.  Looks kind of goofy, but it made me feel like things were kind of holding together better.  Gentle hugs back 'atcha.  Wish you didn't have to go through something so freaking hard.  AA

    On the tatoo subject. Maybe

On the tatoo subject. Maybe should have a blue band or ribbon with the words on it since blue is the official color for colon cancer. One of my tatoos has some blue tribal on it and I thought about having a blue ribbon added with stage IV survivor written on it.

    Great Thanks

Great thanks to all of you for your support. I think one the reasons my pain gets so bad is onmy good days I try to do wayyy too much cause in the hospital they say " the more u do the faster u recover,"but apparently that's not true for after u get home, just when you wake up from surgery. So often I feel like I'm being punished but why soo much??? There has been so much bad in my life that it really outweighs the good and seems to have always had.                                                  But anyways I need some suggestions on a tattoo about hope. But not "Keeping the Hope" because I already have "Keeping the Faith." So some suggestions would be great since I just can't seem to find anything that really stands out to me and I'm getting ready to get my next one that says "Never give up." But I want to add either "Fight Like Hell" or Fight Like a Girl." I was leaning more towards fight like a girl because they say colon cancer is more common in men than in women and definetly in someone of my age. Shall we take votes for anyone that wants to have a say? Vote 1 for "Fight Like Hell" and vote 2 for "Fight Like A Girl. Okay thanks guys! I should be in touch more often...

    How about: "Hope dies last!"

How about: "Hope dies last!" for your tattoo? :)
