Hello Everyone,

March 3rd, 2013 is Triple Negative Breast Cancer awareness day!!!

Please tell your Triple Negative BC Story here and maybe we can get this page

out to other sites to build awareness!!!

My name is Patrice Sarnatora and I myself was diagnosed in March of 2011 stage 2A IDC. I had 3 months of dose dense chemo. A/C/T

My side effects were minimal although my white blood cell count went down to frightening levels.

I had a bilateral mastectomy and very happy I did. Triple Negative is a very scarey diagnosis but with diet, yoga,

massage and most importantly my faith I feel very confident that I beat this beast!!!

Its been two years and my tumors markers are very low...like 11.7 so I am very happy about that.

I also wrote a booklet "What To Do When You're Diagnosed" by Patrice Sarnatora to help other women battle this disease.

You can download the PDF file for free.

Excited to hear your stories good and not so good.....newbies and oldbies.....

We are here to help each other!!!

(((HUGS)))

Patrice

    Not Triple Negative

    Dear Patrice,

I wish you well in getting out the word.  Triple negative bc needs something other than the old adage of cut, burn and poison.  It needs targeted treatment like we others have with our ER or PR Positive and Her2 Positive cancers.

Wish that they would find something to help you ladies and gents  who have this diagnose very soon.

There are ladies here who have that diagnose and hope they will reply to you.

May you remain cancer free for the rest of your life.

    All good wishes,

    Doris

    15 year survivor here

At 36 years of age extremely sick with stage 3 IDC with 11 out of 21 positive nodes and triple negative. I didn't find out I was actually triple Negative till just 2 or 3 years ago now after another round of lumps my third since diagnosed and treated for my Breast Cancer.  I did have 6 treatments many drugs for chemo as well as two mastectomies my Dr. and Mother both advising against a double mastectomy to hard on the body and needed to worry about the cancer first.  I had one then treatments 6 rounds of chemo and 15 radiation being from Canada.

I have had most side effects from all the treatments but have managed to forge out a physical career.  My bottom line has always been that I have to work and if I cannot then something is wrong with that even after all these years.  I do not need my mind eased I need lumps checked to make sure not cancer since the first one was neglected.

Cancer is scary does it truly matter all the statistics.  We prove them wrong daily...

    Triple Negative Too

    Hi Patrice,

I had triple negative breast cancer, Stage 2 A IDC, Grade 3. I was diagnosed in September 2010. I had 2 failed lumpectomies - they just couldn't get clear margins because it was growing too fast. I finally had a single mastectomy followed by dense dose chemotherapy. I finished that in April 2011. I had immediate reconstruction which didn't turn out well at all. It was a really hard time for me after five surgeries and A/C followed by Taxol. I continued to work at my same job through it all. I had really bad neuropathy, I lost 30 pounds and all my hair - everywhere! I had severe anemia and was in pretty bad shape by the time it was done. I had so many people help me through it - a lot of tips on handling chemo from the wonderful people on this site especially. Jessie's Mom was the one who convinced me my hair really would come back some day - LOL!

But it was all worth it!!! I've had a great year now that I feel well again. I've spent a lot of time with my husband, my sons and my friends. I really appreciate them and my life. I'm truly grateful to God for every day. It hasn't all been easy - I've had a couple of scares that at first looked like a recurrance, but they were false. Triple negative is a tough diagnosis. I know I'm not in the clear yet because it comes back so often but I try to stay positive.

I hope and pray for all my sisters in pink, with TNBC or any breast cancer, that a cure comes soon. We deserve it!

    love,

    JoAnn

    Triple Negative Too

    Hi JoAnn,

Thank you for your story!!! God Bless You!! You have made it through to the other side. Remember curcumin is good to take to help with TNBC and also check your vitamin D level. WE all need to take D3 to help right this monster.

Stay well.....and know you are not alone...I went through mine almost the same exact time as you!!!

Well March 3rd is OUR day!!!

    Hugs

    Patrice
