I am on my second round of Carbo/Taxatore ...md cut it back by ten percent as I was very ill for two weeks. My numbers are way down and my Prt showed signigicant reduction. My balance is much better..don't need walker..use ankle weights. Lost some weight..have thrush every month. Stindoors. Most of time..flu season. My poor 18 yr old Jack Russell. Is dying..I am very sad for him. I try to look on the good side of things and keep the faith. I will beat this and get into remission ..just takes time. I hope you are all well and don't. Forget your big girl panties..think I need some new ones....Val

    Dear Val

So sorry about your dog. He is 85 in human years and it's a good long life.

Keep your chin up! Chemo will be over in no time and you will be back in remission.

PS. My big girl panties are really big (gained 30lbs on chemo)

I am also sorry about your dog.  I will send prayers up for you .  Pull up your big girl panties tight and hold on to them.  With a great attitude like you have hopefully the chemo ride won't be so bad and you will be in remission soon.  Hugs

    Dear Val

I truly feel for you. (other than OVCA, I have a rare auto immune disease which has been affecting my mobility.)

You are a good fighter. You will beat this and you will get into remission.

    YOU WILL.

You wrote, "I will beat this..." Read that.  Look in the mirror and say it.  Close your eyes and think about all of us on this board, all saying with you, "we will beat this!"  The road sucks, but we will beat this!

So, I can be strong for you and for me, but all I can do for your poor sweet dog is cry!  I love my pup so much, I can't bear the thought of what you are going through with yours.  You are in my prayers.

And since we are discussing panties...I have new leopard print panties to wear on chemo days!

    I am so sorry

you are going through so much, Val.  You have been fighting long and hard to get back to remission and I know it will come.  Pets are such a comfort for us during our illness and it is sad that you are losing your buddy.  You are one of the strongest women I have had the privilege to know.  You offer kind words of support on this board which I am sure have helped so many including myself.  Your sense of humor is amazing.  I tell friends and family that you would be so much fun to hang out with.  You have given me a lot of laughs on Facebook with that "spicy" wit.Wink

You are always in my thoughts and prayers.

    Awww Val...

I am so sorry to hear about your dog.  Like you needed this ontop of everything else.  We also have a very old dog that we are afraid is going to go soon.  She is a rottweiller/shephard mix and they tend to live to 8-10 years old and ours will be 17 this month....

    You are in my prayers

    Dear Val

Thank you so much for taking the time to check in with us.  I have been wondering how you are doing.  I am so sorry that you have been suffering but so glad to hear that you are now doing better.  I feel so sad too about your beloved Jack Russell.  Our pets are very important to us and eighteen years is a long time to have such a loyal and loving best friend.  Even as you deal with your chemo, I know you will do your best to make his time as comfortable as possible, with lots of snuggles and hugs.  You are one strong lady!  Hang in there and I pray that things will continue to get better for you!

    Hugs,

    Kelly

I am sorry you are going though so much Val. I kind of know how you feel. My10 year old Lasha Apso had congestive heartfailure. Alexandra, since the start of my chemo I have 10 weeks ago I have gained 16 pounds. I am assuming some of it is from the steriods. My doc said no diets right now just cut out any junk food.

Glad to hear from you! Happy that your balance is better. It is a good time of year to stay inside anyway. I hope the  reduced dosage is easier for you. When did you start chemo with this recurrance and how much longer do you have to go? It seems you have  been on chemo for a long time but I am sure it will be worth it. We do have to be tough but there is nothing wrong with babying yourself whenever possible. You deserve every treat you get! You have had such a difficult year, I am sorry your puppy is not doing well now. I pray that he sticks around a little longer for you.

Stay strong. I am praying you get a long remission soon! Hugs!
