    hi Claude

Hi there and welcome.  People on this site are great.  We tend to become like family.  I agree it is easy to be afraid.  Not knowing how things are going to turn out is hard sometimes.  We all get through it together.

    darn right it is scary

    Hi Claude,

Welcome to the H&N forum, but sorry you find it necessary to be here.  So what scary things have the VA doctors told you?  If you are like the rest of us, you have a right to be scared.  In your title you mentioned staging, if you want to look the Superthread (top thread) in the opening page has a lot of information on H&N cancers and a lot about staging if you want to read it.

Things do move fast and slow at diagnosis, the doctors want to make the best estimate of your condition.  After your condition is known and a treatment path selected things will mellow out some.  Let us know what you find out and we will answer any questions you have.

    Best,

    Matt

    Welcome Claude...

It is scary, I don't think you'll find any of us here that have not felt the fear that you do.

But one thing for sure, you have found a family of warriors and survivors here.

There is always someone that will offer you a hand when needed.

    Best ~ John

I'm sorry they've left you hanging

for 5 days on your scan results....that's cruel....but not that unusual.  That's how my ENT handled the first scan I got....but by the time I got my second scan, I was a patient of the Oncologist (who seems to have a better idea about what it's like to have to wait).....his office called me the day they got the scan.

I'm sorry you had to find this site, but so glad you did and it's good that you have been reading....now you just have to belly up to the bar and talk... Laughing....There is a ton of good support here....I as SO glad I found these folks before I started treatment.

    Hello

Scary is part of our cancer package deal here.  Very sorry you're stuck waiting so long for a follow-up on your scans.

    NOT

i am not a believer in stages. cancer is cancer, none of it is good. i believe everyone on the healthcare side should have a high sence of urgency. when treatments are happening we all should be treated same, find it early, get the treatment plan and get started with confidence.

Positive Mental Attitude maintained will take down every phase. Believe you will kick cancer butt and guess what you "will kick it's butt, down the road"

take the unknow scary energy and put that energy into Positive Mental Attitude that will equal out to peacefulness!

    Welcome

Glad you decided to start posting. I think you will feel it benefits you more to actively engage in the discussions, especially ones like this that you create to express  exactly what is on your mind. I'm nearly as new as you and just completing diagnosis phase, so much of what I read is still all new to me.

Feel free to post away, my friend.
