Any Good News with Nexvar.

My dad was diagnosed with stage 1 cancer in September but now he got four tumors total on his liver. 2.3cm, 4.7cm. One of the cancer is next to his portal vein which the doctor is scare it might spread to different organs. My dad has been fighting with hepatitis C before he got HCC. His hepatitis C level is very low.

I am currently 23 years old and in medical school. I really wish my dad can live long enough to see me graduate from med school. I am planning on getting married in 3 months so at least my dad can be at my wedding if not my graduation. The problem that my dad is getting is very common in Hawaii especially among the Asian-American communities. I am trying my best to research how to prevent Hepatitis C among the asian-american communities.

Please share with me some good news about Nexvar or any bad news. It really sucks to not have your dad at one of the biggest graduation in my life and see become a doctor.

    Nexavar

Hi, My mom has been on Nexavar for a year now. She is only taking a quater of the dose. It has been hard for her. She has gotten alot of sores and blasters on her feet which makes it hard to walk. Last week I just got her horse cream to put on the blasters. The cream is starting to work. It is called Hoof Alive. They have a website and they will ship it to you. It does help alot. I wish my mom had it from the beginning. She is finally starting to be able to walk. It has been a tough year for my mom. She is only 58 years old and has primary liver cancer that is also in the portal vein. She had a recession last November and has been on the Nexavar ever since. She will be going for a Y-90 Treatment in the beginning of next year. I have seen so post about Nexavar that people are taking the full dose and are doing ok. The biggest thing I hear is upset stomach, sores and blasters. The cream Hoof Alive has worked great so far. There are a few other horse products that we are going to try. Mouth sores and blasters miracle mouth wash and Sore no-more Liniment. This is for anybody ache. Can't apply to any open sores but it will sooth any body aches that you feel. This can be ordered at Doversaddlery.com or kf vet supply on line. Hope this is helpful.

    thank you for he information.

thank you for he information.  i will get that before she starts it. Maybe we can prevent the blisters.  I saw on a previous post that you where discussing diet.  Does this seem to help your mom?  My moms doctor hs her on milk thistle and flex seed oil.  We are mixing the flex seed oil with cottage cheese.  Praying a lot, seems to be our comfort right now.  Thank you again.  The past few months have been hard, its nice to speak with others going through the same thing.

    diet

Hi,I have been looking into diet for my mom but we havent started anything yet. I have read alot on diet and seems that sugar spreads cancer. I am looking for a diet that will slow down the growth of my mom's cancer. Her doctor's told her that she would have between 12-18 months after her first surgery and we are now approaching the 14th month. Cancer is back on her liver and it looks like it has spread to her lungs. Her cancer counts are going up. Do you feel the milk thistle and flex seed oil is working? I am looking for my mom to have more time. My brother will be getting married this March and my niece which is her first grandchild is going to be one in May. My mom has so many important things that are coming up and we need her with us. I am looking for anything so she can have more time.

    Understand where you are

Understand where you are coming from.  Im so scared and feel so helpless.  My mom was just dx this past Nov. so not sure if the flex seed oil and milk thistle re working.  Her doctor told us tat wen h first started practicing he had a 92 old me p with this.  That was in 93.  There was n other tx beside surg and his tumor was to big.  All he took was the flex seed oil and milk thistle. She has an appt on the 10th. Will see how labs are and let you know.  I know its so hard to stay positive, but you have to keep your faith!!!
