anyone heard of TACE treatment

My husband diagnosed EC STAGE IV with liver mets 8/2012. So far had 10 radio sessions and 3 cycles of chemo, rescan result today show no change. Oncologist now wants to try TACE radio. Anyone heard or had this. We r devastated with rescan results as he is looking and feeling good, gained 5kilos in past week no pain or other symptoms. I just dont understand. Lorraine from Oz

    I've read success stories about this treatment. It works well on liver mets.

    many thanks for the link. interesting information. the oncologist has now decided to change chemo type and see how he goes on this. TACE may be considered in the future. thank goodness for this forum, very helpful.

    TACE

    Hi Lorraine, I've had TACE in Germany for sarcoma in my liver. 5 sessions so far & so far so good. It's a great therapy(for me at least) as conventional chemo does not work for my type of cancer. 

     

    Pretty painless therapy, well hurts for about 5 minutes, then some abdomen pain for a few days but I fly to Germany day before from UK, have treatment day 2 & fly home day 3. 

     

    Dr Vogl has a lot of info on this therapy. I've known a few people go for it with both liver cancer & sarcomas & both had been successful.
