First 6 month test results are in..

Just a little update and some good news..My results are in and all is fine. Dr says no more tests needed all is clear. So now it's onto living my life again and dealing with some heart issues like my CHF and some gastric issues which are just getting under control again, I hope.
Got my finger crossed on that one. So it's 1 down and 2 to go..but first I'd like to get out in nature and down the road in the little travel trailer again for some much needed R&R..

That's the plan..

Sounds like a good plan - enjoy it. Presumably the occasional scan is planned though?

Thanks TW..Not to worry no more scans are needed because the tumor was not cancerous. Dr. was just checking to make sure there was no leakage and that everything is healing ok. It seems that I never needed kidney surgery in the first place. It would be great if they could find a less painful way to diagnose kidney cancer other than sending everyone to the operating room. Surgery has its risks too. I started having Congestive Heart Failure and pulmonary edema while in the hospital which I am dealing with now by taking Lasix and eating less sodium. They tried to push me into surgery again this month for a angiogram and stents if needed and a ER Dr. wanted me to see a surgeron for my gastric issues..So I guess you could say I am playing it on the safe side this time and went with my first thoughts about all this mess. I put my foot down and told them all I don't want anymore surgery right now..So we are going to take what they call the integrative approach next. Changing my diet and getting more exercise and such, not sure what it involved quite yet, still need to schedule the consult, but for the time being I am giving my mind and body a little break from it all. I feel that is what I need the most right now..A little R&R is sometimes the best medicine. It really is a quality of life issue for me at this point and I really do want to enjoy some of that life now. I am looking forward to getting on with my plan..

So Sorry I know this is a long winded post but I just needed to get this all out somewhere..No need to comment or agree..This is just me being me..

    Take care everyone...

    Unneeded Surgery?
    Littledarlin,

Few of us are lucky enough to be told our tumor was benign when it had a 90 plus percentage of being Cancer going in. The fact remains that the odds were that your tumor was cancerous going in or that it would become cancerous over time. Sorry you had to join our club, but we welcome you anyway and for what it is worth the odds were that the surgery was necessary. OK you beat the odds. Good for you.

Letting it all hang out is a major part of what forums like this are for for us. In next to no time the exercise will make you feel better and when an improved diet has settled down and you're used to it, that will also make you feel better. Maybe a little meditation thrown into the mix would be good too?

I can understand your decision to get off the surgical roundabout for now, at least, and have some quality time. It may be just the tonic you need. Good luck.
