2nd Opinion from Johns Hopkins

Johns Hopkins will provide a 2nd opinion for $550 plus $250 for pathology interpretation and $250 for radiological interpretation. I would have to mail my records and have the VA Hospital send the biopsy slides to them. Then they send me a report on what they find and recommend. Has anyone used this type of service (mailing your records for a 2nd opinion)? What did you think of the service?

Thanks for any opinions!!

David

    Johns Hopkins
    David,
I checked into this service with John Hopkins and spoke to the lab whom originally perfromed the lab work and learned that it was very very common to get a second opinion
    from JH.

Wish I could add more. Good luck.

    2nd Opinion from Johns Hopkins
    Hi David,

I subscribed the 2nd opinion from JH for my Dad being treated in India almost 3 months back. It was a detailed report (treatment plan, potential risks etc), very much aligning with the treatment being suggested by Doctors in India.
Not sure of the medical merit of the report (only God knows better), it certainly helped us to take a decision and provided confidence at a time when we were torn between treatment options i.e. surgery or radiotherapy.
All the best and do let me know if you have a question.

    Thanks
    Pepe,
I have an appointment today with my primary care doctor (TRICARE) to get a referral to Moffitt here in Tampa.

    Thanks for the comments.
